I also remember on the SDUT forum some were saying the same thing about Merriman a few months after we drafted him.

I just hope he makes Baby Face Bradyall upset so he runs off the field after the game to cry in his locker, the way the Chargers did last time they played the Patridiots in Foxburrow.

Well, there was an article a few months ago where they said Rivers did some weightroom training and seems to have strengthened his arm.

That means more zip on his passes when needed. :abq2: :abq1:

Speaking as a guy who wanted to keep Brees, I'm real glad Rivers is our QB:yes:

I must admit I was and still am a big drew brees fan. couldn't believe the Chargers didn't want to resign him after his injury a year or two ago.. but it did look as if he was hit good.(bad for him & the Chargers!). I'm glad to see he was able to rebound from his shoulder injury! I hope Rivers will be able to UNLEASH the ball this season now that the conservative martyball has been kicked to the curb!
I miss the days(and I'm sure other Charger fans will agree!) of Air Coryell! When we could stretch the field! Hopefully Turner will be able to do likewise with our receivers! Comments?

Exactly. I was always backing Rivers from Day one. No offense to DB, but I thought PR would be something special. I got into it with other posters on the Nflforum and other boards (I know, causing trouble...) But I know I'm usually right.... DB is doing well in NO. And Rivers has MVP potential here. I'm happy. :icon_biggrin:

I can imagine how it was Lash. We had the same thing going on thenflforum going back and forth. It was like you were in the Brees or Rivers camp. All the old posters from that board know what I'm talking about. Little Lighting, TBF, sdbound, captiond and a lot of the defectors know we were at it all the time. But like you said earlier man, we're all one big happy family. (well, most of the time....)

It's funny how quickly that disappeared. Some of the Drew Brees fans on the Chargers board were borderline Glenn Close about him. It was truly sickening.:lttehghost:

Anyway, I liked Brees but like LT21 said, I just had a feeling about Rivers. I think he's in the Tom Brady/Montana mold, with a little Marino mixed in. I hope Norv gets the Marino part out him, ie ( big numbers ).

I liked Brees, unlike other posters I appreciated what he did for the team. I had no clue about Rivers other than what I saw int he first camps and preseasons. That left me with no warm and fuzzies. He has proven to be very capable, and a good leader of the O.

So I am happy, and bittle little trolls like Eldwin choose to still hate on me because I will not hate Brees just to be popular. Oh well, I will kick Eldwin in the nads later!
