Norv: The team was completely unprepared!!!
And what the hell was the deal with running up the middle on 1st down every time!??!?!? Not only is the middle their biggest strength, its out biggest weakness without Hardwick in the game!!

Cottrell: You cant stack the line against the worst passing team in the NFL?!?!? What the hell is wrong with you? Just use the same stratagy every team does against LT! YOU SEE IT EVERY WEEK DUMBASS!

On the bright side. Chris Chambers had a fantastic game that wont show up in the box score.

One of the worst coaching jobs I have ever seen. Bad coaching early in the game set the tone and gave the Vikes confidence. And everything just streamrolled from there.

Hey Norv, how about a no-huddle to dictate to the defense once in a while? Ever watch any of Cam's video from last year? What a dumbass. And yeah, let's keep running up the middle on first down against the worst pass defense in the league.

Yep...... I can understand how he can kill a team in terms of organisation/motivation etc.

But can someone tell me how a supposed offensive guru (remember Dallas) can turn a good O into a crap one. V poor protection, Dreadfully poor playcalling, a QB who looks like a rabbit in the headlights still in the game etc.

How can he do this?...... I don't gettit.

If there is no good answer he should resign immediately simple as that. Even Shelmon could call a better game than this.

    Still don't gettit.

Can we all agree we had the bones of a v good O here before the season?....

    Yes, ok.

Then if you look at the players he had at his head coaching stints they do not compare correct?...

    Ok.

Then how can he turn the O into what it is now.

I mean as OC at San Fran last year it seems he did a good job. Why is the O so bad?............ :icon_huh:

Gotta agree with leisure, Rivers looks like a 1st year, nothing special, raw rookie. I mean if you have problems throwing against a weak pass defense like the Vikings then you have problems. I still have hope of winning the West, but we need to pull our heads out soon

Cover two schemes make Rivers look terrible. KC has worked him over every time.

Great Post Matilack. Totally agree. Norv did NOT prepare this team today at all. Now we know why Cotrell was working in the NFL Front office last year. HE CAN'T COACH. The guy we miss the most is Wade Phillips. His defense would not have been embarrassed this bad. But imo it starts at the very top. Barring some miraculous turnaround the rest of the season, I just don't see this coaching staff taking us to the promised land, I really don't. This teams entire philosophy is just wrong. You see the elite teams in this league and in the past and they always had a organizational philosophy of expecting to win. Look at teams like the Steelers or Denver (not this season) Those teams always expected to win, despite the players. It's a philisophical attitude that starts at the top and tickles down to the coaches and players. Even if this team does beat Indy next Sunday and wins the division at 9-7, I don't see this team winning it all with this current coaching staff, I really don't. Just my 2 pennies.....

Then again I could be wrong. I hope I am. But I doubt it.....:icon_sad:

I was willing to make excuses for this crew but no more

They have gone in the wrong direction

Even IF we make the playoffs there is a good chance that we will see another performance like yesterday

FIRE THEM NOW AND LET THE HEALING BEGIN

The answer, Dublin, is attitude. There is no questioning the talent level we have on this team. And IMHO at this level there's not a ton of separation between schemes. Some teams might have slight advantages when it comes it schemes and ideas for utilizing their players. But we all know Norv has the potential to execute, because he's had great success as an OC. Basically I think the organization/motivation aspect of the game is 90% of what a head coach is there for, and that is the absolute weakest aspect of Norv's game (and was, incidentally, the strongest part of Marty's). My biggest criticism of Norv before, during, and since the hire has been attitude. I can quote myself from before his hire telling ya'll that it made me sick watching him on the 'Skins sideline while I lived in DC. I fvgging hate his body language, his reactions, his posture, and the expression on his ugly fvgging mug. But I take absolutely no joy or solace from having seen the potential for this kind of train wreck. Norv will never be able to motivate... EVER. And I think we were all a little hopeful and idealistic in assuming these guys could motivate themselves.
