    Rookie contract update

I wanted to pass along some late-night rookie contract information: The Broncos are confident they will sign their final two unsigned picks, first-rounder Ryan Clady and second-rounder Eddie Royal, sometime Thursday.

The team and the agents for both players worked into Wednesday night and are set to continue to pound out final details Thursday. While there are no guarantees that Clady, the team's starting left tackle, and Royal, the new return man and backup receiver, will be signed today, sources believe both will be in camp before the first practice Friday.

Meanwhile, there are indications that the Chiefs and No. 15 overall pick Branden Albert are getting closer to a deal and that he could be in camp on time Friday. The Chiefs' top pick, defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey -- the No. 5 overall pick and the highest unsigned pick in the league -- continues to talk to the team.

In San Diego, there is still hope on both sides that No. 28 overall pick Antoine Cason will be on the field Friday for the Chargers' first full-unit camp practice. The team and the cornerback are not far apart, but there are still details to be ironed out.

Of the three, the Bolts have the least amount of work to do to sign their guy.:tup:
