With all the debate about over-reacting or under-reacting, I thought it would be interesting to see what people's tipping point is.

So after we play 6 games, what record would have you very concerned about the state of this team and its chances in 2010? Maybe not writing off the season, but very concerned about our results and what it means for our season, to the point of panic. Remaining games are against Jax, @Sea, AZ, @Oak, @StL.

    .500 and below.

4-2 or 5-1 means we don't lose again or only lose once for the next 5 games. I would be happy with that. 3-3 or below means we lost 2 or more to marginal or extremely ****** teams.

I'd be very disappointed if we lost any of those games.

Pulling out an old thread because I'm so upset about this team's record right now. 3-3 is the best we can hope for right now. After playing KC, Jax, Sea, AZ, Oak and StL. Are you freaking kidding me? How has this team squandered away 3 games (at best!) out of those 6?!? It is a sad joke that we have this bad a special teams, this many fumbles, and this many losses. We have some amazing stats on D and O, be we can't do the simple things of holding on to the damn ball and playing average special teams.

Just pathetic. I know they can come back, but I am sticking to my original vote of hitting the panic button if we have 3 losses. Just simply not good enough.

Better now than later though. IT seems like most of our problems happen early and then work out later whereas most teams melt down at the end. SInce we seem to think sept and oct is still preseason maybe 18 game sched will help?

We will right this ST ship, beat the Rams and then defeat the hated Patriots here in week 7 and be 4-3! You heard it here first... :)

I dig your optimism. But if someone told me in August that we would start 4-3, had lost 2 division games and still be behind the Chiefs in the division, I'd be freaking pissed.

I don't know what's better, 5-1 being an option or 2 people voting for it.

I didn;t notice that this thread was created before the season. By still, why were only 17 votes allowed?

It was probably set to close at a specific time and only 17 people voted before that time passed.

Correct. I set it to close before the second game began. It was started in response to the panicked people and the people who mocked the panicked. It was to get a gauge of people's demands/expectations on a bigger sample size than one game (but smaller than the whole season of course). I didn't want votes after we knew how more than one game went down.

EDIT: As a side note, I personally take the votes on the two extremes out of the question out of the 'study'. I don't think that anyone would panic at 5-1 (after the first loss had already occurred) or that only 0-6 would make others panic. Those just represent those that refuse to accept anything this team does as acceptable or unacceptable. The major majority wound up in the middle, which is now either panicking or on the verge of panicking. Which I think is appropriate.

My response isn't panic. It's apathy. Its the same old shiit every year. I'm to the point where I don't really care. We aren't getting any bettr, we have the same shiity problems we've had the last several years, we haven't won shiit. We look like shiit, we play like shiit,

    and I just don't give a shiit.

I started to panic when Jamal Williams went down last year.

I did not wait to panic until this year are you kidding ?

    Why wait to panic?

Start now or you are too late.

I'm at the panic point. It's still early in the season but I'm getting that feeling that if we don't win the west we won't have a good enough record to be a wild card. I'm tired of piss poor football from the Chargers.

We just lost 4 games to teams that had a combined 15 wins last year. Are you f-ing serious?

I'm not panicking, I see no point. When it's beyond repair, sometimes you just gotta watch the building burn down.

Panic? No, not panic as that would imply still giving a ****. I'm much more on the "I really can't even watch this, tell me when it's over" level. The way they play is NOT my lightning football and whatever THIS is, I can't bare to watch one more minute. It's pathetic, it's disappointing, it's infuriating, it's tough to accept.
