ROD WOODSON: "SHAME ON SMITH, SHAME ON TURNER"

As if they had anything to do with it? Seriously, its Merrimans decision, its not as if AJ is standing over him in his Hawaiian shirt saying "play or no pay."

Every single sports channel has talking heads ripping into AJ and Norv over this, and I dont get it!?!?!

Because they think AJ and Norv should shut Merriman down?:icon_shrug:

    That would be my guess.

THIS ALL THAT STUPID AGENTS FAULT. Merriman isn't this dumb, he had to hype it up more than it is, its ok let them hate, merriman will be like antonio pierce at the end of the superbowl, "23.5 sacks write a book on that"

Marcellius Wiley was on blaming the entire organization for "organizational pressure' and then for 'taking the low road' by cutting players who played through pain with their organization.

Of course Wiley holds himself up as the model :icon_rofl:

Last time I checked Merriman is a grown man, I'm sure he is fully capable of making his own decisions. Honestly I'd view those comments as disrespectful if Merriman really wants to play.

He isn't a college student, or a high School student or even someone in Peewee.

Merriman said in his conference today that the injury is NOT CAREER THREATENING.

All part of the carefully-orchestrated anti-AJ campaign put together by Condon.

That's what this last week was all about.

****! Even our newfound nut-licker, ESPN, who I mind you is usually neutral, is calling out the Chargers. It's as if San Diego is the bad guy, AJ Smith is the Al Davis that will do anything to win a Superbowl and Norv is his minion. It's bullshit is what it is. Merriman comes up smelling like roses and the organization looks evil and desperate. Something's wrong.

A little off topic but I am hating all the injuries we have had the last couple of years. For crying out loud has there ever been a team with more injuries to pro bowl level players than the Chargers?

    LaDainian Tomlinson
    Lorenzo Neal
    Antonio Gates
    Jamal Williams
    Shawne Merriman
    Nick Hardwick
    Philip Rivers
    Marcus McNeill

Those anal-ists can all blow me.

You see a car salesman--- he'll sell you a car.

You see an attorney-- he'll tell you to sue 'em.

You see a roofer- he'll tell you you need a new roof.

Your kid sees an orthodontist- he'll recommend braces.

You see an orthopedic surgeon and guess the farg what... he'll recommend surgery.

    Duhhhh.

Of course they're gonig to recommend surgery... that's what they get paid to do... a chance to cut is a chance to cure.

Not true, an orthopedic surgeon recommended me to see a Nero surgeon. I'm glad he did.

I blame Drew Brees for all of this. If it wasn't for his lying about his injury to try to weasle a better contract, Shawne would never have come up with the same idea.

The media are playing dirty in this circus. Today at Charger park all it asked about was Merriman. The nerve...

Yeah, I saw Wiley Coyote on ESPN saying, "Shawne, you're my boy, but you have to shut it down" Yeah, Marcellius you shut it down after we gave you that big contract you hypocrite! And you didn't HAVE an injury. Loser......

Hmm...the doctors told him "If you play you are more likely to get seriously injured."
When you get a very mild concussion they will say "If you do that same activity you could hit your head again and possibly die." But 90% of the people will go out and do that activity and none will die from a collision. In other words, "you could injure it again, even worse" is the standard medical response.

2001 - Idk about an injury but he also had 12 sacks and was a pro-bowler, very grateful
2002 - Injured abdominal, played through it and was appreciated again. Still fan favorite
2003 - Was 'healthy' - 1 sack, no pressure all year, constant cancer by stirring the pot about Brees v. Flutie and constantly talked crap about that team

Basically everything in 2003 was the reason he was dropped like a bad habit. And he proceeded to suck balls ever since and hate the Chargers.

I like how all these analysts are commenting, trying to make themselves the "authority" on the situation, when they likely have just 10% of the entire information.

Just like the knee-jerk reactions from some fans blaming the Chargers, AJ Smith, Norv, and the team doctors for being the ones that screwed up.

He had 1 good year then lived off of all his hype from that year, with Dat Dude and his crappy rapping. Guy was more concerned with himself than getting better on the field and improving the team.

But I guess all the work he put into hyping himself instead of working to improve the team must have worked out since he's working for ESPN now.

...Yeah, I caught that too. What a big blowhole
He got that big contract based on what, one good year in Buffalo? Then the injuries mounted and the Chargers made a business decision. Let it go Wiley.
