    Oh he still has his freedom of speech, it doesn't mean ESPN is obligated to keep him and pay him for it. It's their business their decision.

    There is freedom of speech and there is being a complete fuking dumbass.

    I am not a big fan of the Kennedy's, but that was over the line IMO.

    You're absolutely correct. I believe our freedom of speech was originaly intended to give us the citizens the right to critisize the government and not be punished for it. All of a sudden people now think that it means that we can make idiodic comments and broadcast them to the masses. Not so. Like you said, we all have the freedom of free speech. Doesn't mean you wont get fired or punched in the mouth for expressing that right.

    we still have freedom of speech. what we do not have (and shouldn't have) is freedom from repurcussions of your words and actions:flag:

    Agreed.

    There is no such thing as freedom of speech when your a paid employee! That's why there is such a thing as HR and the employee handbook.

    Now, unlike some of you I own my own company, hence I have freedom of speech.

    Business owners = free men and women!

    Employees = not so much.

    I believe this Madden character was an employee! I care not for the Kennedy's but that comment was worthy of him getting fired from his job, he forgot he works for the happiest place on earth!

    Funny how everybody always waves good BYE to freedom of speech when the most innapropriate comments are made and then eliminated from a business environment, somebody forgot to tell this guy [Madden] his salary is paid by the sponsors and advertising that is fueled by the consumer, of course his demographic in PA may or may not agree but it only takes a handful of bleeding hearts to complain "I'm not buying stinky cat pet food any more because you keep this guy on the air" for the stuffed monkey suits to get their PC'ed tighty whitey's in a buch!

    It's not his god given right to say anything he wants when he's an employee, but if he feels that he has to then he has to deal with the consequences = the unemployment line!

    That was over the line. It's one thing for somebody to say that calling in to a sports radio show. But a host of a radio show, who is being paid, has to know what's appropriate and what is not.
