I cant believe how well he has played so early in his career

He hasnt looked like a rookie at any point this season and has been making great plays every week. There were a few plays he made yesterday that might go down in the stat sheets, but were great plays

This guy is the real deal, and now gives us 3 CBs with #1 lock down potential

    Awesome pickup AJ!

Cason is playing really well, rookie or not.

Long term it could bring up some interesting possibilities for the secondary arrangement.

He's playing very well... much better than I expected him to at this point. I figured he was at least a year away.

If he keeps this up, he's a candidate for defensive rookie of the year. His all around game is the most mature of any rookie I've seen this year, regardless of position.

Sooner or later they might catch on.

Probably not. Keep second guessing AJ and keep being made to look like fools.

I don't know if we lucked out or what. But cason is the real deal. Good athlete and he's smart. A.j./buddy got another one.

Getting tolbert was icing on the cake. Hester is just waiting in the wings.

Cason is playing like how everyone wanted Jammer to play straight outta Texas U. I think Jammer's struggles early in his career has made him the perfect mentor for Cromartie and Cason.

Another thing, with Cason playing like a 1st rounder, potential starter, we have more leverage when signing Cromartie. Sadly, that means he may be his successor also.

Are you serious? Luck? It's not luck with AJ/Buddy. 1 udfa that pays off is luck, but with the track record AJ has established here with his multiple pro bowl picks, we have moved beyond the realm of chance and now dwell in the valley of REALITY.

AJ knows what he is doing. FACT.

Totally agree. Why did it take Quentin Jammer so long to adjust to the NFL?

Cro and Cason just jumped right in there, and they were drafted much lower than fifth overall.

Cro didnt just jump right in, it took him a year and a half to get his first start and only got that because of injury

Also, it was much different with Jam, He came to a horrible team with no pass rush and no other good DBs on the team where as cro and cason have come to a great team with a top flight pass rush (when sweaty teddy allows it!!) and good S behind them

Actually we did luck out, because the other CBs were getting hyped up (cromartie) while Cason fell under the radar and slipped because of it. I said before the draft I thought he was the best CB in the draft and back in 07 when he had the option of opting for the draft a year earlier he was considered a top 10-15 talent at that time.

I would say getting a top 10-15 pick talent where we did was pretty lucky and AJ was smart enough to ignore the hype of the other CBs and pick up the actual stud in the draft.

    I concur

Does anyone think we should have a Mountain dew or poof section? Like, we have smacktalk and fantasy... we should just make MD section so every thread/post he makes we just move it there so he can talk to himself.

NO. It's called doing your homework. AJ went with they highest rated guy he had on his board. IF Cason wasn't there, I'm more than sure he would have found someone else just as good, maybe at a different position, but bottom line is AJ finds the good players. It's not luck. It's SKILL.

Um I think you're missing the point, the Chargers were lucky Cason was even there in the first place. He was a lot better than his draft spot.

While the other teams were infatuated with the hype AJ knew where the money was at because he is that good.
