At what point do Charger fans start to put the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle together ?

With Newberry and Shelton in there, our oline looks like world beaters. Rivers stays upright and is the leagues leading passer through two games.

Re-insert Hardwick, who's obviously still playing hurt, and our oline looks like crap. Rivers is running for his life and suddenly looks like he's "regressed".

Its not Rivers fault or LT's fault.

    Its Hardwicks fault.

the basics of this, the whole "sit lt so he can rest" thing is what i agree on. he is NOT himself, hes definitely not helping himself by still playing, and hes not helping the team, i mean if hes a leader, he needs to admit to his weaknesses, and right now that toe is the "achilles heel" (oooooo fun with anatomy analogies) i agree that he hasnt done very much and there IS a reason why we have sproles and we have hester and we have yogi bear; these guys have proven themselves, sproles has more often outperformed LT this season because hes 100% healthy. i would seriously take a 100% healthy sproles, hester and yogi bear over a 75% LT.

From the looks of things, LT and Gates will continue to play through their injuries. If that is the case, then the offense needs to spread that ball around to some of our other weapons and use LT and Gates enough as decoys to keep the defense honest...give Rivers more time in the pocket and let's see some more play action. I'd like to see Naanee, Davis and Hester earn their paychecks on the offense in addition to special teams. Could someone please find the "run into the pile of bodies in the middle of the line" play and rip it out of the playbook...thanks.

I hope the team is at least half as angry as the fans are on Sunday!

    Go Chargers!!!

Didnt he do this last year only to be bashed and ridiculed by the media and fans in the AFCCG? No matter what he does it doesnt matter cause the media and fans have no clue what they want.

Didnt we have Turner and Sproles last year? And I am pretty sure that people called him a P U S S Y , and a baby, a whiner, "look LT's pouting on the sideline", for placing himself on the bench because a 100% Turner was better than a 70% LT. I am also pretty sure that he was called soft, and told by fans he had no heart. So all the sudden another injury comes about and limits his ability to run, only this time he tries to stick it out and the media and fans bash him for saying he needs to do whats best for the team.

    This thread is a joke.

    Great point.

Hardwick has always had trouble with the bigger interior D-linemen in the league. We have never been a good inside running team with Hardwick as our center. We need to put Newberry back in there, let Nick be a serviceable backup for now.

While we're at it, Shelton needs to play, sit Clary's *** down too.

Exactly. Most of the posters in here are not smart enough to understand what Ant is saying.

Especially when we're only going into week 6 and Sproles and Tolbert are doing so good.

Didn't leave any doubt with me, it was stated fairly clearly, and all it caps.

By that, I meant it wasn't a put down towards LT.
It's just a fact that he needs to get healthy, especially when it's only going on week 6.

I think this is an accurate assessment. LT's toe is not right, he needs to sit. That isn't an indictment on LT in any way.

LT is one who is going to play, as long as he can sprint. That's just his competitive nature and we love him for it!!!

So Norv needs to make the call and put him on the bench.
Or at least give him a few snaps but have Sproles and Tolbert carry the running game... until LT is back to being LT!!!

I still don't understand how his damn toe is supposed to get any better if he keeps playing on it.

Yet some of LT's comments indicate that is what they are hoping to accomplish, like playing on it doesn't make the injury any worse, and it will get better whether sits or not.

Does that make sense to anybody? I don't get it.

    That's just LT for you.
I respect his competitive nature but he really needs to sit.

Ya that will be great!! So we can listen to the whiners, cry about him taking himself out and sulking on the sidelines.....Just for the record I think he should sit out, however I also thought he should last year as well.

I didnt cry about him on the sidelines last year, nor will I this year like some people in here.

Tolbert can catch and run well afterwards but he STINKS as a blocker....make no mistake about that so you can stop with the ' he is doing so well" stuff.

He does some things a lot better than Neal....which is catch and run with the ball but that is it!!! After that, he really is a liability.

Sproles, i agree with you...but not Tolbert.

Tolbert has had some impressive runs. Use him as we are now.

Use Sproles A LOT more and give the ball to Hester as well. That's what we freakin' drafted him for!!!

Those three can get us some wins while LT's getting healthy!!
It would be nice to have a healthy LT in the playoffs this season.

Tolberts impressive runs have been after a catch. He has only 18 yards rushing.
He can catch and do something with it...but Norv didnt throw him one ball last week which at least would of been SOMETHING diferent in that game.
Tolbert cant block, he sucks at that.

The running game hasn't cost us one game this year, and LT had a significant part in the Oakland game already. I see no reason why those three would help have helped us win any of the games that we've lost this season.
