Check the ends of the box

I've been using aluminum foil for more years than I care to remember. Great stuff, but sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like when you are in the middle of doing something and you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.

Well, I would like to share this with you.

Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box.

And written on the end it said, "Press here to lock end".

Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there?

I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too!

I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.

I'm sharing this with my friends who did not know this. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.

Not even close, Toby---nobody in my house knew that either!! I can't COUNT the number of times I've torn off a sheet of Reynolds Wrap and had the @#*%!! roll fly out of the box.:icon_evil:

Thank you for performing a most valuable public service for those of us who use foil to cover burner plates, line the bottom of the barebecue grill, put on top of the turkey to keep it from drying out, and (occasionally) as gift wrap when there's nothing but Christmas paper in the house.

    SAAAAAA-LUTE!!!:icon_toast:

    Mosquitoes & Listerine

The best way of getting rid of mosquitoes is Listerine, the original medicinal type. The Dollar Store-type works, too. I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as well. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't leave home without it.....Pass it on.

    A FRIEND'S COMMENTS:
I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors. It works - in fact, it killed them instantly. I bought my bottle from Target and it cost me $1.89. It really doesn't take much, and it is a big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes. So, try this, please. It will last a couple of days. Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame. Spray around the window frames, and even inside the dog house if you have one

Wow, being in the medical field and also being highly allergic to mosquitos, I didn't know this.

    Is this really true?

One hint. Mosquitos are attracted to the color blue. Yup, this is true... If you're going to be outside at dusk, don't be wearing the color blue.... or have the Citronella handy and be wearing bug spray. Mosquitos have never stopped me from enjoying the outdoors, but I have to take extra precautions. I have an EPI Pen but have never had to use it.

Again, my friend down in the South Texas Valley swears by it.

I'd been back from Vietnam a year, and was on a field problem with my new unit in the forests of NC. We were sitting around the campfire one night swapping war stories when I suddenly got chills throughout my body, and shook violently for an hour.

An hour later, my body became so hot I hadta take alla the clothes off that I had put on the previous hour. For the next 12 hours, it was like that, chills and fever. I was medevaced later that day.

Turns out I had contracted Vivax Malaria, even though I faithfully took my daily Dapsone tabs, and weekly horse tabs (Chloroquine-Primaquine) for my entire three tours over there.

Malaria, as you are aware, is contracted by the bite of the Female Enophiles Mosquito; so I don't think much of them either!!

    More Listerine-

Take one cup mint flavored Listerine, one cup lemon scented dish soap, on cup lemon scented ammonia, and one can of beer; put it into one of those hose attached Ortho sprayers, and spray everything green, and anywhere an animal has been. Great for the vegetation and the bugs. Keeps them all away. Spray every ten days or as you feel. "Can't over spray" says Gerry Baker, master gardener. Been using it for over thirty years, and never had fleas, bugs, and ours was the only tree on the block that didn't die.

    Better living through chemistry.

Been cheated at the gas pump??

This is a true story, so read it carefully please.

    From another friend of mine:

On April 24, 2008, I stopped at a Kangaroo BP gas
station, located at 1325 Main Street, Cartersville,
GA my truck's gas gauge was on ΒΌ of a tank. I use
the mid-grade, which was priced at $3.71 per
gallon. When my tank is at this point, it takes
somewhere around 14 gallon has to fill it up.

When the pump showed 14 gallons
had been pumped I began to slow it down, then to my
surprise it went to 15, then 16. I even looked
under my truck to see if it was being spilled. It
was not. Then it showed 17 gallons had been pumped,
it stopped at almost 18 gallons. This was very
strange to me, since my truck has only an 18-gallon
tank. I went on my way a little confused, then on
the evening news, I heard a report that 1 out of 4
gas stations had calibrated their pumps to show more
gas had been pumped than a person actually got.

Here is how to check a pump to
see if you are getting the right amount:

Whichever grade you are using, put EXACTLY 10 GALLONS in your
tank, then look at the dollar amount, if the dollar
amount is not EXACTLY 10 times the price of the
fuel you have chosen, then the pumps are rigged. In
my case as I said the mid-grade was $3.71 9/10 per
gallon, my dollar amount for 10 gallons should have
been $37.19 if I had only check the pump. It does
not matter where you pump gas, please check the
10-gallon price. If you do find a station that is
    cheating, contact the Georgia Agriculture
Department, and direct your comments to Tommy Irvin,
Commissioner. In other states contact proper
    authorities.
