Chargers Pro Bowl receiver Vincent Jackson entered a plea of not guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended license and expired registration.
A trial date is set for April.
The charges stem from his traffic stop less than four hours before he played in a Jan. 17 playoff loss at home against the New York Jets. He was pulled over for “loud music” coming from his car, according to San Diego police. Jackson’s attorney, Cole Case, said last week that “there’s a genuine issue in that case as to whether Vince knew his license was suspended versus whether it was restricted.”
Jackson’s license was suspended for one year in February 2009 as a result of his January 2009 arrest on a DUI charge. Last week, he pleaded guilty to that charge and was sentenced to four days in a sheriff’s work-release program, plus five years probation. It was his second DUI conviction since 2006.
Jackson asked a San Diego Superior Court judge in March 2009 to set aside the suspension of his driver’s license while he fought his second DUI case in court. Judge Ronald Frazier denied that request on Sept. 9, issuing a ruling that said “the suspension of (Jackson’s) driving privilege is reimposed,” according to court documents.

Off all the years AJ has avoided drafting anyone from the "U" of Miami because of their "character". Let's see if he has the balls to stand behind his philosophy of having a "character" team. Will VJ get a pass?
