AFC West teams' worth take a dip

Forbes Magazine is reporting the Kansas City Chiefs are one of three teams whose worth fell below a billion in the past year. Perhaps the renovated Arrowhead Stadium will help Kansas City climb back over the billion mark. Still, being worth just below a billion isn’t so shabby.

According to the magazine’s rankings, each AFC West team lost some value from a year ago. Denver is ranked No. 10 n the NFL on the value list, Kansas City is ranked No. 20, San Diego is ranked No. 24 and Oakland is ranked No. 31, only ahead of struggling Jacksonville, which has been rumored to be interesting in leaving the city at some point.

Much of the value is based in stadium worth and the Raiders’ stadium has been less than desirable for years. The Raiders are interested in a new stadium but don’t have anything concrete in the works.

That is messed up to hear. Damn not SD too... there mgiht be some blackouts this year after all.

HAHA at the Raiduhs. They should have taken the deal to Co-stadium with SF. They could have built another Parcells stadium and not had this issue. Oyea and they still need to get in a new stadium!

    Agreed we do too.

Oyea was gonna say this prob sucks to hear for Kroenke after buying up the other 60% ownership in the Rams. Well nm looks like the first # I saw for the deal was higher than he paid. So he prob got to see this report before inking a deal. 450 mill for 60% of a NFL team is a pretty good deal.

Think this is how I got a higher # I heard it wrong on TV.

(The purchase is based on an overall franchise value of $750 million. So it will cost Kroenke $450 million to buy the 60 percent.)
