    John Pagano
    Antoine Cason x 2
    Quentin Jammer x 2

    Birds

Birds - Refs, the NFL that allowed a coach banned fom the league for a year to show up (Basically stating that the NFL wanted him to get the record and telegraphing the call from Goodell to the refs saying "Make it happen for the good of the league!"), Jammer looking more and more like a safety, Cason looking more and more like a bench player.

Balls - ??? I guess Goodell cause he executed a plan tonight and made it come true with the refs

    You guys got it right.

    Balls for Meachem, Mathews.

Birds for Rivers, Ingram and Refs. Ingram needs to know the rules and dominate within them. Rivers had 3 bad passes and one bad non-pass in the first half that cost us between 4 and 11 points. Refs just wanted to give NO some hope. Back to back phantom calls were absolute BS.

Note end of world. Bolts played well, but a depressing game. Makes next week critical.

    Balls
    - Weddle, great pressure early
    - Meachem
    - Floyd
    - Front 7
    - Mathews
    - Brown

    Birds
    - Norv, pulling Gaither out after the almost sack on our 2nd to last play is a HCs job when the announcers can see that he can't walk. Also, where were the passes down the middle on the final drive? We had 3 timeouts, the 2 minute warning, and 80 to go. Why not use the middle of the field more when the Saints are playing the sidelines and deep field?
-Gaither, for not pulling himself out of the game when he was crippled instead of just saying "hey, I need help". Watch him not be in the game for the next month
-CBs, we're 3 deep at the corner position with guys whose nicknames should all be toast. They were consistently beat in every conceivable way. Embarrassing.
-Ingram, learn the damned rule book. You're 270 tackling a guy who weighs 210 when he's soaking wet. You're going to leave a quality impression tackling him through the middle, and you'll do so without costing us 14 points. The penalty on Ingram this week was just as bad as the Mathews fumble against Atlanta, and changed the game just as quickly.

I am posting on this for a specific reason. I have come to eat a very small portion of a hopefully larger portion of crow. This is the Ryan Mathews that I want to see on the football field week in and week out. THEREFORE:

    Balls-
Ryan Mathews- Huge game, love the intensity.
Philip Rivers - Let's be honest under constant duress tonight he made A LOT of huge throws and his pick, was PI and right in the Floyd's chest, and his fumble was Gaither/coaching not getting a replacement in there.
Eric Weddle- Made a lot of huge tackles as well as some very hard hits. Brought a lot of physicality.

    Birds-

Norv Turner- 2 1/2 quarters of good play calling, and then brought out cower Norv.
Antoine Cason- How does this dude even get on the field anymore. Not physical, and can't cover.
Front 7/Pagano- Would someone please tell these guys that constantly lining up in the gaps your going to blitz in before the ball is snapped, allows the O-Line to make adjustments pre snap. Good god! So many times Brees had days to sit back there and find someone.

    Balls
    Mathews
    Meachem

    Birds
Norv for not pounding the ball in on second and two from the goal.
Coaching staff for not noticing Gaither was hurt...can't take an injury time out because you lose 10 secs...so call the freaking time out or substitute him after the first sack on the last drive!
Refs: Although we had plenty of opportunities to win, the refs definitely impacted the Charger final drive...pathetic.
GOODMAN: Selfish player and stupid too!

    Balls- Meachem, Mathews, Liuget

Birds- Gaither, Norv (not taking out gaither last play, and keeping ryan mathews on the bench to have ronnie brown and jackie battle on the field when mathews was basically unstoppable all game), Rivers for his stupid panic when he sees the rush and jus puts his head down and stiff arms continuing to back pedal and lose yards.. he takes wayyyyy to many sacks for -12 yards when he realizes hes going to be sacked he should attempt to step up if he can not run away backpedaling to lose additional yardage

    Shitbirds-
    Refs
All of those trying to lay the blame on River's
    Cason
Rygina, MIA in the second half.
    Defense in the second half

    Balls-
    Meachem getting in the grove
    Royal played hard
Gates, Floyd it's a wonder they still had uniforms on at the end of the game

You're acting like Gaither getting beat was the play that lost the game. Yes, it ended it, but all those penalties and other non-calls were huge. Don't think I'm saying with the refs being competent we would have won, we still played like garbage in the second half, but it's pretty damn hard to overcome the refs and the defence.

I'd like to add another Bird. Goodman is atrocious. consistent 20 yard kick returns from 5 yards deep into the endzone isn't worth 1 or 2 kick returns for 6 a season. Our field position was consistently inside the 20 yard line, and that just won't cut it. We could probably let it roll out the back of the endzone on every kickoff and have better starting field position on average, and not have to waste a roster spot on a receiver who can't get on the field on offense.

I agree with that, but his staying in the game was mindless. What lost the game was the Ingram penalty, but Gaither is a veteran, and should've known that he wasn't capable of blocking anyone.

How can you give Mathews a bird? He was dominant. Give Meachem a bird because he disappeared on all but the 3 catches he had, Royal only had a few plays, etc.

But that wasn't his or Norv's fault. That's the fault of the coaching staff to see "Injured player, get him the hell out of there!" That's on the OL coach etc, get him out there and put Mike Harris in

I agree, it was just the exclamation point but it wasn't what lost the game.

Were Norv's eyes not on his QB? If I can see that Gaither can't move, and Collinsworth is commenting on it with highlights from the previous play for 10-15 seconds before the ball is snapped, Norv should've noticed this.

Gaither would have had to get off the field on his own, they couldn't call the time out and an official injury time out would have cost them either time run off the clock, loss of a time out or yardage.

He was able to walk to the huddle, he should have been able to walk to the sideline.

He should have at least let the sideline...through Rivers know he was hurt. Ultimately, the coaching staff has enough eyes in the sky boxes and on the field that they should have noticed it and reacted...Collinsworth did which should be an embarrassment to our coaching staff.

I'm surprised that dingus even noticed that the Chargers were playing tonight with all the tongue punching he was doing to Brees' fartbox.
