By Kevin Acee

There might be concerns about Marcus McNeill's back, but there can be no doubt the big left tackle from Auburn's mouth is healthy.

"I know L.T. is going to get all the glamour and glitz, but when they sit down and look at it and they pick their Pro Bowl teams, they're going to say, 'Why did L.T. rush for all these yards? Maybe this tackle isn't bad. Maybe we'll take him to the Pro Bowl,' " McNeill said with a laugh yesterday after the Chargers made him their second-round selection. "I've got big expectations in the league."

McNeill, at 6-foot-7"½ and 336 pounds, was considered by many to be a first-round talent. But a back condition known as stenosis, a narrowing of the spine that causes great pain and back weakness, was one reason teams stayed away from taking him before the Chargers made him the 50th overall pick.
