    Wow.

I was diagnosed with leukemia (AML Type M2) in June 2000 and with 5 rounds of chemotherapy plus 46 blood transfusions over the course of 8 months, I am still cancer free 7 years later.

This really hits home for me, not only because of his illness, but because I always respected him as one of the greatest coaches and offensive minds of the last 30 years.

Man, the 49ers dynasty was the greatest of all time, surviving coaching changes and QB changes--but Walsh was the guy who started it.

    RIP Bill Walsh.

Holy shiit, man! That's amazing. My wife's brother died at age 9 of leukemia. He and I would be the same age. Here's to you :icon_toast: and your continued good health. Crazy.

As for Walsh, kinda weird for me here... 'cause I grew up in Ninerland and I hated the Niners because my dad hated the Niners mainly because they were just so good and the bandwagon was non-stop, but also partially because of Walsh. My dad played at Willow Glen High in San Jose and played against Walsh's high school teams in the Bay Area. I guess Walsh badmouthed the Willow Glen team when they broke his own team's winning streak (or some shiit like that) So I always kinda' had a little something against the guy. Still, I can't deny the man's genius.

    RIP
