Bills general manager Marv Levy on Wednesday all but ruled out the team's chances of offering Turner a contract or swinging a deal with San Diego to land the player, whose rights have been retained by the Chargers.

"There's so many complexities to the deal that if it's done, I've got to tell you it would be a surprise," Levy said during the team's annual pre-NFL draft luncheon.

Bummer, I love turner, but getting a 12th round draft pick would have gone a long way...

Whole lot of posturing going on right now. I do not think I'm alone in the opinion that if a deal is going to be worked out it will probably be a draft day move.

BTW I don't think a 12th round draft pick is worth a whole hell of a lot considering everybody else stops at 7. :icon_tease:

I think they have a new name for those drafted in the 12th round now, they're called undrafted free agents.

Yeah, but Ralph Wilson and Marv Levy are so old they can't remember this important change.

They've got a "Depends" dispenser in their men's room too.

IMO it would be smarter to move DraFlo to FS with the promise of a nice long contract if he can make it work.

Is Florence physical enough to handle the load at safety? I'm wondering if he'd be overmatched against runners and tight ends.

What happened to the talk of moving Jammer to safety? He's the most physical of the three CB's. Besides, Jammer is a perfect name for a safety.

Jammer to safety was invented by the posters, Marty always squashed those "rumors". On a side note I think DFlo would make a GREAT FS.

Like AJ said "it is liars month"...

More and more it is looking like there will be some "exotic" pick swapping going on come the first round and a trade involving Michael Turner will be part of it.

Don't be surprised if old Smiley Jones of the cowboyz tries to "Wade" in (pun intended) come draft day. Very little has been said about the Cowboys RB situation - but they are not convinced that Barber is a solution and are in a similar situation to us with Julius Jones.. Turner has all the potential in the world to be a serious upgrade over Jones. Also, Dallas has enough CAP space to accomplish just about anything Jerry the Jacka.. er... their owner wants to do.

Edited: Have a peek at the snippet from the Dallas Morning News if you think I'm blowing uninformed smoke here. :):icon_toast:
