Over an hour ago - Possible blackout: The team still has nearly 10,000 tickets available for Sunday’s home opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars that must be sold by Thursday to avert a local television blackout. Chargers RapidReports

Damn I hope that you all can get this handled in time, or the oranization can buy up the remainin 3-6k ticks before FRI. Its up to you now locals I have faith.

And if anyone wants to send me a plane ticket and cover the game ticket for me Id love to go to 2 games in a row. I can pay for the game tick later to make this ezier on you of course. But seriously would love to see this game get at least as close to sold out as it can.

How far does the local blackout go to? I'm moving to Los Angeles on Saturday so is there a chance it won't affect me (if it does end up being blacked out)?

I hope it's blacked out. Maybe the team will take notice.

Probably not. Sproles on the delay up the middle for a loss of 5.

Wow.....hoping for a blackout and I know RTL goes to the games.

If I had my tickets this year, I don't think I would wish for a blackout. That hurts the locals who can not afford to go although that is a hard call considering what is about to happen with a lockout. Tough call. I understand it would get attentions and things would need to change but at the expense of the little guy or the locals yet again. Take one for the team on the chin I guess. That is what it comes down to it appears.

What exactly? Move to LA? They're already trying to get a new stadium and having a lot of trouble getting support for that.

Gotta be honest, ban me if you must mods...There isn't much of a downside to moving to L.A. from an ownership prospective.

remember when the Chargers moved up there a few years ago for their Preseason Training Camps? The Cowboys drew more fans to watch them practice.

It has been a while for a regular season blackout. Will it be like the pre-season, where they will re-play the game on TV later, after it is over? Or not at all?

If the times are so hard, how come the players are getting such huge pay raises? Try and go to a local casino on a Saturday night.

The game will be replayed ONCE at midnight the day of the game on the NFL Network or local TV station....something like that.

I feel a bit of supply and demand kicking in with the NFL. At some point the spiraling costs of going to the games will exceed the willingness of the public to pay. Maybe we are getting close to that point now, at least in some places. I am one of those guys that can afford to go, but don't really see the value in spending $500 for ****** seats and lots of hassle. I think this CBA drama may be the enema the league needs.

Unless the players are paying for people's season tickets I don't see what their salaries have to do with the economic state and the financial well being of the average person.

Everyone starts out the same way. You have build up some seating priority, and then as seats become available, you move into better seats. You do that by being a season ticket holder year after year. That’s why the good seats are gone; those people have been with them for decades now.

Player pay raises dont mean crap when talking about ticket prices. The player salaries are drawn from several sources not just ticket sales. I for one cant afford to take my family of four to a game, so yeah times are hard, and the players will continue to get pay raises and the owners will continue to make bank... TV, shirts, etc...

I wanna know who's getting season tickets for only $500.

When I had season tickets 4 years ago my seat was literally as high up as you can go (right under the Texans banner) and that one seat cost me around $760.

Spanos is going to make the same amount of money on the NFL Television contract whether people are in the seats or not. If you are not in the seats inside the stadium then Spanos could careless whether the Television is showing the game or not. And if he can still throw huge sums of money towards the players, do you really think he cares that some Joe Schmo cannot but a ticket to his game? Now you living in Ohio, do you really care if the game is blacked out in San Diego?

Now he does lose money because of the unsold seats, but then he cant be losing much, look at the saleries he is paying.

There is a shitload of cash on the sidelines. I was at the Pala Casino two weeks ago on Saturday and it was packed. I won $600.00 and bought new BFG's for my ride to run over bambi or his mother.

The economy is not in shambles but it is screwed up and banks are not lending for ****. I had a student last night at the local college where I teach tell me he owns his house free and clear and he can not get a mortgage on his home. I just about **** myself when I heard that story.

Agreed. I was just wondering why you made the correlation between times being so bad and player salaries.

I think I see the angle you meant, though.

I live in Arkansas, but no I really don't care.

And the games will start to be blacked out. The NFL is not about you or me; they are catering to Corporate America. You see that at the Super bowl every year. You see that at the Chargers games now. Club Level has their very own entry gate. The rest of us peons, have to go through another entry gate, which has a line of about 500 people long. That Club Level entry gate is almost a walkup service. Spanos wants to care of the people with $$$$$$, and the rest of us, well thanks for coming, now get in line.

Sorry I knew it was somewhere back there.

The NFL is seperating itself from the rest of the world. And they are only interested in taking care of the hand that feeds them.

    $25.00 to park a car at the game, $8.50 a beer, $5.00 a hot dog, $5.00 a soda that comes in a 16 OZ bottle, and $100.00 a ticket.

But yet over here there is someone giving them $500.000.00 a year so so he can put up a Banner telling me to Buy that $8.50 beer.

Who do you think has more pull? Do you really think Spanos cares if I do not renew my seats, or do you think he would find out why that $500,000.00 a year is not coming in? Now the players’ salaries are jumping up, the seats inside are not getting sold, and next year a lockout is looming. The times cant be that hard if you’re an Owner.

Anyone have a more concrete answer, because if it is at midnight that will suck, because there is no way, I can DVR it and watch it on Monday. Due to the bozos at my work, that will blab about the score Monday am. I hope they re-play ala pre-season, when the game ends... I'll go tuna fishing in the AM, sear ahi when I get back, then watch it ~7pm.

I gotta say, as a fan since the Fouts era, this blackout is a major turn off to the NFL. It is mind boggling, that the NFL has this rule. It seems to go against advertisement of the sport. I'd even be willing to do a reasonable Pay per view, because as others have said too, I can't take my family to the game. Even if I can afford to take just myself, I want to enjoy it with my wife and kids. And I'll be honest HDTV is pretty good now.

If you have fast enough internet that can support streaming video you can more often than not find someone streaming it live there.

Family section seating or upper view (east end zone in rows 20-25 or something) are $480 per seat per season.

Heard this morning that as of yesterday, there are 7,000 seats left. If there is a one day extension, as there might be since they played on Monday night, we might see it lifted. If they don't ask for an extension, it's blacked out.

I wish the NFL had a pay per view option for home games. I have medical issues that keep me from going to games (I don't even go to movie theatres). I would have to get doped up on pain meds to be able to attend a game. I might try a game and see how I do, but the last time I tried a movie theatre I was in pain from just sitting in those crappy seats for 2 hours.
