Thanks to the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation; KGTV Channel 10 in San Diego and ESPN, Sunday's contest will be shown on television throughout Southern California. The three entities have jointly agreed to purchase any remaining unsold tickets by kickoff of Sunday night's Chargers-Giants game to lift the local television blackout. The game will be televised live in San Diego on KGTV, Channel 10 and nationally on ESPN.

The three entities also have purchased several hundred tickets to be donated to local military, Hurricane Katrina evacuees along with Hispanic community-support organizations in coordination with the Chargers' celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

"We're proud of San Diego and we're proud of the San Diego Chargers," said Sycuan Chairman Daniel Tucker, who also stepped forward last season to help lift the blackout of the Chargers-Raiders game. "We welcomed this opportunity to help give a great football weekend to the community."

"We wanted to make sure our loyal viewers as well as all San Diegans have the chance to see what we know will be a great football game," said Derek Dalton, KGTV general manager.
