After the game today against the Cleveland Browns, Edwards will have only four regular season games at Qualcomm Stadium before he takes off the Chargers uniform for good.

No, Edwards is not retiring. The 11-year veteran is only 33 years old and is at the top of his game. It's just that general manager A.J. Smith has indicated that Edwards is not in the team's future plans.

Edwards did something all employees do every year: He asked for a raise. In his case, he wanted a contract extension because his current deal runs out after this season. Smith said he was tired of talking about it and basically told Edwards to take a hike. He tried unsuccessfully to trade Edwards to New Orleans earlier in the season.
