I get the feeling this guy is destined for the Crosby squad unless he impresses in camp.

its interesting but if Cooper and Wilhelm don't work out that well for us we actually have two freakin outstanding ILBs in Waters and Siler along with Dobbins. This is interesting

I think they could use waters as an outside linebacker as well. Two great linebacker pick ups.

So, is Siler a young Randall Godfrey? It doesn't sound like he'll ever be an amazing athlete at the position, but hard-nosed, smart, a thumper who will be very strong against the run and has solid leadership...

Lot's of great athletes are busts. They perform great in the drills and combines and do well at the college level. Guys like Waters and Siler are hardnosed football players with enough athletic ability to stick their noses where the other side doesn't want them. It would appear that's what we got with each of our draft choices. Davis and Naanee are the best athletes in this crop. Neither one would ever make an Olympic athlete, but they are both football players. When you get both, you wind up with LT or Gates or Merriman.

    That's called depth. :icon_evil:

I think with his athleticism, Water could move to a 3-4 OLB.

How much you wanna bet that Wilhelm and Cooper are our starting ILB's opening game?

I get that feeling too .... Waters could backup all four LB spots. Siler will be an ILB.

I doubt very much that Waters or Siler is going to beat them out. Even Dobbins has a year in the system. But i do like the prospects.
Waters may not be 100% ready to go anyways. He is 6 months out of surgery from a torn ACL and just got clearance to run earlier this month and he still ran a 4.69. He didnt do any other sprints or the long jump due to his injury.

Waters imo can be one to play some OLB for us when he is comfortable in the system and is 100% healthy but he will have to bulk up some.

I think Wilhelm may be our best overall LB now. He is better in coverage than Cooper is imo.

We are way deep at LB
You think Siler could end up being a OLB with the 40time? (4.52)

    Me too ....

We're building a YOUNG, fast, athletic group of LB's. Just what a 3-4 team needs.

He ran a 4.67 but he isnt a OLB type in our defense. Waters would fit better when he is heakthy.
