I'm just messin around. I'm glad that Brees had some words of encouragment for Rivers. I'm hoping that Rivers pans out I really am. I dig the kid. Let's hope the game slows down for him next year. He's shown flahses of brilliance and he could help us out if he could just hit his receivers.

He needs to ignore the attempt to bulk up and focus on raw conditioning and coordinated movement in the off season so that his lack of fundamentals isn't such a handicap. Joe Capp, Jim Plunkett and Fran Tarkenton were three oldies whose mechanics were, to say the least, unconventional, but they got the job done. Norval is responsible for this, since he has apparently failed to instill any real discipline in Rivers. John Ramsdell hasn't really connected with Rivers, it seems. Either that or Norval is kibbutzing too much and confusing the poor lad. Either way, neither Rivers or this team are getting the coaching they need. This team would be in an even worse position if it wasn't for the roster we have, the same one that dominated last year. Norval has failed to put a stamp on this team, they are a functional nonentity, no persona, no identity, no chemistry.

Regardless of what you read on these forums, Bree is not a crappy quarterback. Sure, he has limitations, but he's not crappy.

    Exactly.
Ask Saints fans how crappy he is!!!

I think Brees is great but Rivers has given us no reason to miss him!!

    Thanks for the link.

I was never a big Brees fan but, he is a class individual.

I am looking forward to the Brees vs. Rivers game in New Orleans next year. That is going to be one hell of a fun week!

I think that with the majority of the residents in San Diego being bandwagoners (sad but true) the possibility of keeping this team somewhat hinges on Rivers doing well. It may be a stretch, but if the Bolts are in the dumps, we could see a 56% no and a 44% yes on a stadium ballot.

Thank you msmith for connecting us with the radioreport with
Drew Brees. I still like the guy, even when I support Philip Rivers
as our QB and I'm very pleased about the compliments he gave
in that interview. Many fans are just bandwaggoners, who kill
you after a bad game. We've gone to so much bad seasons
that the real Chargers fans should remember, before they critizise
the present team. As the Saints did after 0-4 start looking only
    onto the next game.

Any ballot issue involving any sports franchise in the City of San Diego will be still born for quite some time. Not because of what Rivers does or doesn't do, but because of the enormous tab of the last seven years coming due. This year's state and local budget battles are only an opening skirmish. We are probably in for a very deep recession, and the Chargers may wind up staying here for a while, even in the old stadium, because places that might have decided to accomodate a new NFL franchise may have to postpone their plans. Whether people realize it or not, bread lines are back, they're just not in the news because people aren't qued up in the street like the good ol' days when my departed daddy carried his little brother on his back to school, in the snow, up hill both ways.

What? Maybe because his Mother was using his image solely for her own personal profit, and political gain despite his wishes.

Would you not do the same? :icon_shrug:

I wonder if the coaching staff will figure out RIvers arm is tired. Rest his arm this week and lets see if we see an improvement. Plus the o-line coaches need to get the cattle prods out to get the o-line to play tougher.

Not sure if he was seriously going to follow through with it. but what if you had a relative who had the complete opposite moral values as you decide to run for mayor, and they were plastering posters of you everywhere saying that you support them, and that you endorse them without your consent?

Maybe he wanted the voters to vote for his Mom based on her political record, and views rather than seeing posters of him and being swayed saying "Hey that's Drew Brees' Mom we have to vote for her."

We've gone through this Brees **** 100,000 times on these forums. He lied about the contract offer from AJ, he lied about the extent of his injury. He threatened to sue his Mom.

    Brees = No Class

    None.

    Oh come on man.

He was asked the question and he answered it - I think he would know a great deal on the subject considering he is in fact a starting QB in the NFL (which none of us are) - worked with Rivers for two years - and knows him personally. I was quite happy to hear his remarks because frankly I have been losing a lot of my faith in Rivers.

i know u liked Brees so I am going to select ur post to say this...

every ****ing qb has a bad day, bad patch in their career. Rivers should be benched 1 game so that he can learn and ponder from the sidelines. Rivers will be a fine qb in the league. He needs to sort out his fundamentals a little bit and he really really needs to learn how to cool down.

fcukin charger fans are too volatile...

p.s u r just bagging on rivers so that whitey can play
