    Favre asked to be traded

    Jay Glazer / FOXSports.com
    Posted: 32 minutes ago

The man who may have the biggest name in Green Bay sports history has asked to be traded.

Several Packers and league sources have told FOXSports.com that Brett Favre's agent Bus Cook phoned Green Bay's general manager Ted Thompson within two to three days of the draft and asked for a trade. The sources said that Cook railed off how his client was fed up with the organization and wanted out.

The shocking request appeared directly related to the team's inability to trade for WR Randy Moss.

The news was then relayed to head coach Mike McCarthy, who immediately phoned the Super Bowl winning quarterback to squash his anger. However, the quarterback ignored all his calls for a week, perhaps showing the team how upset he was this time.

I kinda doubt this still but this is turning into a pissing contest between Favre and the GM as to who runs the pack

Favre wanted targets and weapons he got defensive help but also a new RB (Brandon Jackson) and a new WR (James Jones) and a new TE (Clark Harris). I guess Favre just wanted to play with MOss and now that he didn't get the chane (Count your blessings Brett) he's complaining like a little kid.

Let me get this straight... Randy Moss was the straw that broke the camel's back? Randy Moss????

Come on. I could see him being pissed about them not upgrading the WR corps in the draft. But Randy Moss being the impetus for him demanding a trade NOW?

I call bullshit on that part of the story.

Brett Favre should just retire already. He'll never have a team again as good as his Super Bowl team.

He's just stunting the growth of Aaron Rodgers and turning the Packers' 2005 first round pick into a wasted one, by staying around.

The Packers should have made a concerted effort to move Favre last year. Instead, they let him control every aspect of his decision making process that eventually led to his return. I think the organization is as much to blame as Brett is with regard to Rodgers' situation.

On the other hand, Rodgers has apparently done nothing to convince them that he's ready to take over. I like the kid, he's from Chico and certainly is the biggest name around these parts. But when he got his chance to show something last year, he got hurt after just 1 quarter of football. Not really the stuff of legends... and again... nothing to ease the minds in the Packers front office.

I'm a huge Brett Favre fan.

Time for Brett to start throwing number six shot at ducks this fall. Go straight to the duck blind, Brett, do not pass GO, do not collect two hundred dollars.

Why? They didnt surround him with good enough weapons, he would have been handing the ball to Jackson and Wynn this year.

No way that team is playoff contenders when their best two RB's are rookies.
The Favre, Turner, Driver, Jennings combination would have put them over the top as far as offense.

If he does get traded, where can he go and be the starting QB? Miami? He's got the record for most consecutive starts by a QB. Unless it's Miami, he'll be nothing more than a backup QB.

I just hope Brett Favre remembers what a piece of **** Johnny Unitas was for the Chargers. That is no way to go out.

That's about the only place he'd be totally welcomed.

I could see Miami angling for Favre, if no headway is made on the Trent Green situation.

In theory, they coulda used their 1st, 3rd, and 4th to get Turner and Randy Moss. Farve with Moss, Driver, Jennings, and Turner runnin the ball would've made a potent offense. Moss and Turner should be worth more than 2007 picks, 1st DT Justin Harrell, 3rd WR James Jones, 4th OL Allen Barbre.

I really really thought the Packers were playing possum and were going to pounce on Turner. Favre is pisssed. Oh well. Tough **** for Brett.

I lost respect for him when he played these games of retiring or not and playing GM.

    Fuc Lord Favre.

The funny thing is that people in Wisconsin are so blinded by their man-love for him that he can do or say pretty much anything and they'll agree with him.

I think your probably right. Another thought is Farve is the only chance they have at having any kind of success next year. SO I'lm guessing the cheeseheads are hanging onto farve and anything that he would say with extreme reverance.

Sounds like a disaster is coming to greenbay. The smartest thing greenbay could do now is trade him for a any draft pick next year. Cause the qb's they have other than farve suuck big time.

I was trying to think of a team that would fit for farve. And I think you hit on it with miami. They are in desperate need of a qb. And its close to his home in mississiissiisiisiisisiisippi.

Only problem I see wth any team getting farve is he's on his last legs as a qb. How much would a team be willing to give up for a dead man walking.

Would anyone in their right mind give up a first round choice for a guy who was ready to retire last year? True, it would be a really smart move for Green Bay, but they have to find somebody stupid enough to take them up on it. Not even Dan Snyder is that dumb. Even Donald Sterling isn't that dumb. :nana_rasta: They'd have to be stoned.

I cannot think of one Team that would trade for an overaged, overplayed, overpaid, overhyped, washed up Quarterback.

Well, maybe the Raiders :icon_shrug: , they do it all the time.
