Lost amidst the disappointment of our 1-2 start is the fact that we might be witnessnig the best season by a tight end in NFL history.

Gates is on pace for 144 receptions, which would not only obliterate the tight end record of 102 but would also break the record for most receptions in a year by a wide receiver. Gates' 297 receiving yards in a season has him on pace for 1584 receiving yards, which would break Kellen Winslow's record by nearly 300 yards.

Obviously, Gates accomplishments won't really matter if we don't win games, but when the rest of the team gets their **** together, it's good to know Gates will be kicking *** right along with them.

If the guy is always open, why look to your #2 option?

Allen for the sake of the rest of the forum can we please not turn this thread into another Allen vs Toby Norv sucks pissing match. The author of this thread is right AG has been a bright spot and hopefully other players can and will feed off of that.

Yesterday was ridiculous bro. Please cool it. :bolt:

When that happens, then Rivers better look to other options. If he does not, then it will be a problem.

Rivers could surprise the Chiefs if he starts to stare at Gates and then goes elsewhere. We need more than one bright spot. Maybe I'll ring up George I and see if he has any points of light left over.

lol. I don't intend it to be that way at all.
Just Trumpie brought up a subject that I haven't seen any discussion about.

As for the pissing, matches... I promise it will never happen again.
At least if so, Toby will have to find someone else!!

If defenses start double or triple-teaming Gates, then it would open it up for LT. I think teams have decided to let Gates go batshit and shut down the run game. Until we prove we can win against that strategery, its not going to change. Its only a matter of time before old Gatesy breaks one for a long TD and makes a defense think twice.

Living almost next door to Rivers has helped Gates a lot!

Maybe VJ and Buster Davis should think about doing the same thing.... :icon_tease:
