    NFL.com Wire Reports

Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Shaun Rogers suffered a left leg injury in the closing minutes of Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, an injury severe enough to reportedly keep him out for the rest of the season.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Rogers will miss the rest of the season due to the injury, citing a league source. Rogers was on crutches in the locker room following the 16-7 loss to the Bengals with his lower left leg wrapped, according to the report.

The exact nature of Rogers' injury is still unknown, and the team has given no update on his status.

Rogers was injured when a teammate was blocked into him during a running play. A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Rogers was down on his back for several minutes after the pileup. He was taken off the field on a cart, with teammates coming over to offer him encouragement.

Rogers also was involved in the game's most notable play. His horse-collar tackle on Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer with no time left in the first half resulted in a penalty and an extra play. Cincinnati kicked a field goal for a 13-0 halftime lead.

Also, Browns safety Brodney Pool sustained a head injury and didn't return.

Wow....a bigger injury for that team is not possible.

It could get ugly next Sunday.

Unlike Rivera, I don't think their DC will know how to compensate for the loss of their big 3-4 NT.

Good news for our OL and Tomlinson. Maybe a 150+ yards for LT?

Same, and this year, it will be Aubrayo Franklin.

But Rogers was the second-best player on that team...the " best" player when you consider that Thomas really has nobody worth protecting back there .

Oh, we should rack up a ton of yards on the ground no doubt.

They weren't that good of a run defense WITH HIM in the lineup. The Browns are near last in run defense, allowing 160 yards rushing per game.

I wouldn't be surprised if L.T. runs for 120+ yards (his first 100 yarder of the season!) and 2 TDs.
