Rivers is far better than Brees was with us.

Best QB we have had since Fouts. Could end up being the best Charger QB eva!

Rivers is now the unquestioned leader of this team. He has the "it" factor that hasn't been seen in a Charger QB since Fouts. 0-2, no big deal, we'll bounce back with PR piloting this ship.

I would have to completely agree with y'all. Philip Rivers is the LEADER of this team. What is there to hate about the kid? He always had my respect for the person he is, but he truly has my respect as an elite quarterback in this league, and I'm proud to have him as the quarterback of my San Diego Chargers.

Yeah, I agree. Those throws to Chambers were precision defined. His many come from behind rallies also prove to me how great he is and will be.

I just wish LT could be out there being a part of all this. Lord knows the score might have been a bit different. Might have. Sproles was amazing. But still, we choked on a couple of red zone attempts. Freaking Nanee.

I havent either. I loved Rivers coming out of college and have supported him since day 1. He is definetly the leader of this football team.

I said the day we traded for him on the UT board that we finally landed a championship QB, and boy did I catch hell for that.

    Never doubted him. Once he got in there/his chance I knew we had made the right decision in losing Brees. The difference between them is simple;

    'it'

Rivers has 'it', Brees does not and never will. Look at their eyes.

If we can get a half decent D goin Rivers will take us where we want to go.

Guys, we went down the "it" road when Tom Brady replaced Bledsoe. We had an idiot sports radio host that couldn't stop preaching about "it."

"It" is not the answer. It's more about preparation, game based experience and good judgement when plays break down.

I don't see Rivers as an elite quarterback yet, but what do I know, I sell beer.

I can tell you with 100% confidence that I have more faith in Rivers than I do in Cassel, though.

He's well on his way to being elite & has definitely taken over as the undisputed leader of this team.

Now bring me a beer.

...I think that also has a lot to do with play calling. If they throw an incompletion on first down, it seems like they always run on second. Since these more often than not are stuffed..it makes for a must have third down conversion. I'd love to see Norv just open up the playbook and do things less predictable. You can't have ANY threes when your defense can't stop them. The Bolts had three field goals...at least ONE too many!!!:icon_evil:

There are not 5 QBs in this league I would take over Philip. Dude is a stud, and anyone that still doubts that needs to stop sniffing donkey glue.

you all need to stop. Understand the game. The game was already won. The refs blew the call and took the game away from us! the last 8 points should of never happened. Im not gunna argue about it. The 3 1/2 quarters shouldnt even be an issue. The issue is we won the game and the refs muffed off our first win. The rest of the game doesnt matter. Our defense didnt do horrible, they put us in the position to win. They settled down and held denver to 0 points the second half. did you guys not see that part???? Yes, blame it on the refs this time, not our boys. They played and never gave up. Yes we need to work on alot of things, but we gave a great effort to pull this one out.

I was at the game Sunday. I can't get over the swagger PR displayed when on the field compared to when I was at the game two years ago. This guy radiates confidence. He looks and plays like a very seasoned veteran. There is no doubt about it PR and the Chargers are goin to the SB!
