Once I "discovered" the forums I started paying more attention to details in the game. I started to see the offensive and defensive line play a lot more, I paid attention to the blocks, I started looking at the whole play because if I didn't I wouldn't have anything to talk about. If anything, I was crazy and blind before. Now I'm crazy and scrutinous.

It has made me realize that there are people with waaaaaaaaayyyy too much time on their hands and only the Chargers and these boards on their minds.

The discovery of online forums was HUGE for me as a Chargers fan. I used to attend games and fly down by myself quite often even during the 1-15 season. When I found the UT website I ultimately met some cool Chargers fans including one crazy SOB up here in the Bay Area. He and I get together regularly both up here and for games we travel to in SD. Many of the locals I met on the UT site made their way to Bolttalk where I met even more awesome Chargers fans. Getting together at the Bolttalk tailgates has been incredible and we even had a monster bash up in San Fran last year. When I joined the forums I had no intentions of making friends or hanging out I just wanted to talk Chargers football. I now consider quite a few people in here to be good friends and I look forward to this January at the tailgate. :abq2: :icon_party:

I think the amount of information and opinions on it is overwhelming. I just can't get up to argue about a 3rd string lineman on the practice squad. I have to be selective in what topics I discuss. I'm a little bit smarter, but I'm a lot more frustrated and over-reactive. Thanks a lot internet!

Finding a forum like this helped me realize that I'm not the only one that thinks they know everything about football. When secluded to my real life circle of friends they could never hold a sports conversation with me, it's good to have like minded people to share information thoughts, and concerns with. The biggest benefit is many topics I think of discussing have probably already been done or started on the forum, so it saves me much time.

I'd never been to a tailgater 'til I went to Trumpie's Giants TG in '05, so for me, I guess it's meeting people that I interact with on the forums. I've met alotta the guys, and the Bolt Ladies I've met are really HOT!!

gave me a chance to find other charger fans who I could talk about this stuff with as opposed to some friends who didn't know wtf i was talking about and it introduced me to the tailgating experience which I was not familiar with.

haha no man. I'm definately no slave. It's just that my life does not revolve around the bolts. I love them but I have more important things to do than to post about them all the time.

I do appreciate those who do contribute to this site a lot though since I come to these sites to get any information that I wont get anywere else about the bolts.

I belonged to an online Chargers chat group back in the 1-15 season, but it used to constantly break down and be invaded by trolls. Finding the forums (especially Bolt Talk, the only forum that matters) has opened a whole new world of insights and opinions to me. I even spent time watchings tapes of old games in the off season to become less of a ball watcher and a more intelligent poster. This site is kind of half sports bar & half support group.

Also this place saves me a therapists bill.

I'm with bolttalks for the second season. My eremitic life in the desert has got connection to other Charger fans, I missed for a long time. I now can post with thus guys as often I want to.
My knowledge in English language and football specificas has increased. I'm watching less TV and I'm no member of the official charger forum. Go bolttalk, forever

I thought these forums are great man, esp. Bolttalk and I've been on at least 4 of them. Being a big time fan, I can't just talk to anybody about the stuff we discuss. The players, plays, coaches and the inside info. It's great since it's never closed and you can post your opinion like it or not. We all have the one bond in common, our Chargers. I'm glad to chat and discuss our boys here freely and know there are other fanatics out there in cyberspace like myself. Don't know what I would do without the Internet and these boards man. Like Lash says, it's real good therapy sometimes. I feel like you guys (and girls) are like my family. My CHARGER family!

Not a whole lot as changed as far as how I watch or interpret the game but it is a nice release to post with fellow Charger fans. I was on the Chargers newsgroup site prior to coming here and it was just overrun with trolls and other idiots.

Having the forums hasn't really changed me as a fan but, its given me a tremendous opportunity to find fellow Bolt fans that share the same passion I do about my team.

Plus I don't have to worry about repercussions from other Boltheads cause I live in the snow belt called Michigan!!!

    A. The Forum has increased my enjoyment of the games
    Immeasurably.

    B. Given me some more insight into the human swamp, letting me
know that I'm not the only creature in the lagoon as strange as
    myself.

    C. Given me a decent excuse for more bubbly and an incentive to
    buy better congac.

    D. Whitened my teeth.

    E. Freshened my breath.

    F. Sharpened by disdain for the Raiduhs.

    G. Taught me there was life after Marty.

    H. Introduced to a host of new virtual friends who have brought
both more mirth and more heart burn into my life.

    I. Provided me with a chance to hone my snark.

    H. Helped me find it possible to miss my ex even less than before.

    J. Kept me from reading at least one really bad book and watching
    several lousy TV shows.

    K. Provided me with a cure for cancer should I ever need one.

    L. Shown me the true reason why fan is derived from fanatic.

    M. Rekindled my interest in Surrealism.

    N. Shown me the futility of Freudian analysis.

    O. Taught me to be less concerned with my own shortcomings
because now I now I can ignore mine in favor of other's,
    especially those of Raiduh fans.

    P. Awakened the animosity in me toward the Donkeys I do now so
    enjoy.

    Q. Helped me enjoy the season's roller coaster ride instead of
quietly stewing in my own juices.

    R. Actually made insomnia useful.

    S. Revealed to me that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is not the only
    Gawd in the heavens.

    T. Expanded my conception of the rules of human behavior and

    U. helped me explore lower depths of humor than I knew existed.

    V. Made me more tolerant of misbehaving children.

    W. Made it easier not to eat more Cheetos at Midnight because I
something else to do with my hands.

    X. Shown me the real menace of photoshop.

    Y. Put the San Diego Zoo in it's true perspective.

    Z. Just helped kill almost an hour until the electrician finished
    upstairs.
