    AFC WEST
    1. Denver Broncos
    2. San Diego Chargers
    3. Oakland Raiders
    4. Kansas City Chiefs

The AFC West has two quarterbacks who are in dire need of in-game experience: Brodie Croyle and JaMarcus Russell. Because of this, the division is essentially a shoo-in to be won by either the Broncos or Chargers. Jay Cutler proved last year that he’s the real deal and the fact that the Broncos running game is so frigging befuddling doesn’t really matter so much anymore. Brandon Marshall’s suspension was cut to one game, which meant more to his ecstatic fantasy owners than the actual team, and the team drafted rookie WR Eddie Royal, who is apparently of the rare breed of rookie WR’s with enough tools to be named a starter in his first year. All of that combined with major question in San Diego should add up to a division crown for the Broncos.

The San Diego Chargers have injury questions, mainly for Antonio Gates and Philip Rivers, but LaDainian Tomlinson proved at the end of last year that he may be a mortal as well. The guy’s racked up nearly 2,500 carries (excluding receptions) so it’s really no surprise that he managed to get injured at least once. It’s a smart bet to expect either a regression or a beginning of a regression from him this year, which is something that will not bode well for Philip Rivers. Nor would the situation from his favorite target, Antonio Gates, who has stated he doesn’t know how his big toe will hold up this year. For such a big person and such a big percentage of Philip Rivers’s total completions, Gate’s big toe could spell big problems for Rivers and the Chargers overall offense. Poor Chris Chambers, he waited way too long to demand a trade from Miami.

That leaves the Chiefs and Raiders to battle it out for third place, although each team’s future looks very bright after their recent drafts. The Raiders have heralded, Hall of Fame lock, Darren McFadden to look forward to, while the Chiefs have a large portion of their 73 draft picks to look forward to. Not to mention, Brodie Croyle faced some very tough pass defenses in his 6 losses last year, so there is reason for some optimism with him this year.

I think articles like these are honestly reflective of the average football fan. Maybe not the Broncos winning the division, but most people outside San Diego don't think that the Chargers have what it takes to win the Super Bowl. And they will probably continue to think that until we actually do.

Since this is the place for retarded beliefs in the Broncos I add this to the court record

    http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10956783

    San Diego

    Sept. 7: Carolina
    Sept. 14: at Denver
    Sept. 21: N.Y. Jets
    Sept. 28: at Oakland
    Oct. 5: at Miami

Looks like nothing worse than a 4-1 start to me, with Denver the only potential loss. The Chargers historically struggle there, though they're 2-0 with Philip Rivers as a starter. Carolina plays them without Steve Smith. Goodbye. I'm not sold on the Jets and Brett Favre. Oakland? Forget it. When it comes to San Diego, they have a commitment to negligence -- losing their past nine to the Chargers. Miami? The Dolphins won one game last season. The Chargers were one victory from a Super Bowl. Add up the three opponents immediately before New England on Oct. 12, and you have a combined 9-39 record ... or a three-week bye

Denver is the only team that would beat us? Wtf?

Out of those teams, possibly. I'm the MOST concerned about Carolina, why? Because it's our NEXT game. One at a time.

Of course with a hurricane bearing down on them pretty soon, they might just be a little distracted!!!

Hey, they scored six points against us in two games last year, of course they are going to win the division. Cutler is the second coming, because everybody says so.

When did Chris Chambers ever "demand" a trade?

This dude's on crack. I guess he just wants to ignore the combine 60 plus points we put on the donks without them scoring a TD.

The games will be more competitive I'm sure, but they haven't improved enough to overcome the margin of defeat.

Ok we all should know that this isn't a real news site and they don't have qualifications. In fact with sites like this ANYONE can write an article.

People in this forum can write an article. It means nothing.

As for Cutler all he proved is that he could win less than .500 of his games even with help from his kicker, who won about as many games as Cutler did.

The media just doesn't like to see any new faces.

Think they wanted the Bucs over the Raiders in 2002?
They sure as Hell didn't want the Ravens over the Giants in 2000!!!

The only new face I could see them backing if they make the Super Bowl is the Saints.

99% of these "Experts" believe the Chargers will walk away with the west.

Hell I even saw Raider fans setting us at 12-4, and 13-3.
