Understandable - hope the youngsters can get healthy and/or step up, and that the Bolts can add some talent through the draft or FA

Pretty surprising, in fact its not even a June 1st cut either, only saves $1.65M.

Telesco thought Pagano could play to Cox's strengths, he was wrong there, so he'll be looking for players in FA/draft that can play in Pagano's stubborn scheme.

The reporting on Cox's contract has to have been screwed up somewhere. When we signed him it was a $10.25 million guarantee, and he has only received his signing bonus of $5.2 million plus a base salary of $800,000. That means we owe him another $4.25 million in guarantees. Given that his salary for this year is exactly $4.25 million I figured that was guaranteed. Maybe it was guaranteed only for injury and not performance. Either way, hopefully I was wrong and we really do save $1.65 million. If so, it seems we didn't designate him a June 1 cut because we're trying to responsible about not clogging our cap for future years, which is always a good sign.

EDIT: And thanks to Mike Florio we have our answer. It was guaranteed for injury only, and became fully guaranteed if he was on the roster next Thursday, which I imagine prevented us from making him a June 1 cut.

Its the one I'm most surprised by personally, but I'm impressed that TT is able to admit he made a mistake so fast. It's a nice change of pace from AJ.

It looks like the cox cut will save us 1.6 million against the cap this year. :D

Not surprised by this after he laid one big turd all season long. Glad the Chargers cut their losses by dropping him.

Amazing how poor he was... will be interesting to see if he ever comes back with another team. Seems like a smart guy too...

Derek Cox was this year's Robert Meachum, but Danny Woodhead makes up for the error of signing him, and then some!

Hmmm…I like Woodhead…but not enough to forgive Telescopo stepping on his own Cox.

Danny's two lost fumbles can't be overlooked, given his limited touches…good? yes. Awesome? No.

Ummmm yes they can. He did way way more for us then those two fumbles cost us. He was definitely awesome and probably the best FA signing of the entire off season by any team.

Ummmm…he's supposed to do way more for us then those two fumbles cost us. That's how offense works.

I like Woodhead, and I think he had a very solid season…but that doesn't mean we should be blind to the
fact that--despite a lot less touches--Danny lost more fumbles than Mathews did. That reality is not awesome.

2 fumbles in 182 touches from scrimmage is hardly a terrible rate. But Mathews showed incredible ball security this year. Prior to this year, Woodhead had only 1 fumble in 400 touches from scrimmage, so it's not really something anyone should be too concerned about.

    Cox was a big swing and a miss no doubt about it but on the balance of things we're talking;

Cox versus Woodhead, Dunlap, Marshall, Lissemore and Rinehart (not to mention Fluker and Allen in the draft)

TT is v much forgiven as far as this fan is concerned!.

Now now, you know I didn't say 2 fumbles was "terrible,"
I said that 2 lost fumbles in a secondary role is what makes me say he had a "good" rather than "awesome" year.
