Canton, Ohio sits roughly 2,400 miles from San Diego, making the trek to the Pro Football Hall of Fame a difficult one for many football fans in Southern California. But this week, a few special pieces of football history will make the trip to Charger Country thanks to a traveling display arranged by the Bolts.

The Hall of Fame busts of six Chargers can be viewed at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park beginning Wednesday through Saturday.

Fans will get the chance to see the Hall-of-Fame busts of six Chargers' legends-wide receiver Lance Alworth, offensive tackle Ron Mix, head coach Sid Gillman, quarterback Dan Fouts, wide receiver Charlie Joiner and tight end Kellen Winslow-beginning Wednesday through Saturday.

"This is a unique opportunity for Chargers fans to see the busts of the Chargers' Hall-of-Famers in San Diego," said A.G. Spanos, the Chargers' Director of Marketing Programs and Business Development. "The only other time the busts have been loaned to a team was to the Miami Dolphins after Dan Marino was inducted into the Hall of Fame."

The Chargers arranged for the Chargers' busts to be brought to San Diego to coincide with Alworth's number being retired Sunday when the Buffalo Bills play the Bolts at Qualcomm Stadium. The busts will be at the stadium on Sunday and then returned to Canton following the game.

The San Diego Hall of Champions is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located at 2131 Pan American Plaza in Balboa Park.
