These stats don't tell us anything we don't already know, but I couldn't sleep. The only players that rank in the top ten are Philip Rivers, Vincent Jackson, Antonio Gates, Nate Kaeding & Antoine Cason.

I'm using the per game rankings for offense, instead of the total ranks since some teams have had bye weeks and other haven't.

Rank 2nd - Philip Rivers (311.2 yards per game)

Rank 45th - LaDainian Tomlinson (35.0 yards per game)
Rank 56th - Darren Sproles (22.5 yards per game)

Rank 2nd - Vincent Jackson (93.2 yards per game)
Rank 7th - Antonio Gates (87.2 yards per game)
Rank 49th - Darren Sproles (49.2 yards per game)
Rank 102nd - Malcom Floyd (31.8 yards per game)
Rank 110th - Legedu Naanee (29.2 yards per game)

Rank 4th - Nate Kaeding (8.8 points per game)
Rank 75th - Antonio Gates (3.0 points per game)

    Defensive Stats

These are not per game because I couldn't find them broken down that way.

Rank 77th (tie) - Alfonso Boone (1 sack)
Rank 77th (tie) - Luis Castillo (1 sack)
Rank 77th (tie) - Kevin Burnett (1 sack)
Rank 77th (tie) - Tim Dobbins (1 sack)
Rank 77th (tie) - Larry English (1 sack)
Rank 77th (tie) - Ogemdi Nwagbuo (1 sack)

Rank 17th (tie) - Stephen Cooper (39 tackles)
Rank 47th (tie) - Eric Weddle (30 tackles)
Rank 72nd (tie) - Kevin Burnett (27 tackles)
Rank 185th (tie) - Quentin Jammer (17 tackles)
Rank 185th (tie) - Shaun Phillips (17 tackles)
Rank 208th (tie) - Tim Dobbins (16 tackles)
Rank 208th (tie) - Steve Gregory (16 tackles)
Rank 208th (tie) - Clinton Hart (16 tackles)

Rank 9th (tie) - Antoine Cason (2 interceptions)
Rank 22nd (tie) - Quentin Jammer (1 interception)

Cooper would be in the top 5 if that was per-game, at the very least top 10.

That was when we had Jamal, and Merriman was expected to be like the old Merriman, and LT was supposed to be healthy. That's 3 of our best players who have been injured and as a result have had their play severely limited.

Hopefully the bye was enough for Merriman and LT to get back into the groove of things.

I wonder what Mike Scifres is rated at...

That was also when we were reputed to have so much depth. :icon_shrug:

I hope that the bye has helped, along with the embarrassing loss to Pittsburgh, to get us back on track. I also know when smoke is being blown up my ***. I believe that we have a good group of youngsters for the future, but I also see a big drop-off between our starters, like Jamal, & those guys.

The feeling of entitlement alone won't get it done.
