Week 1 Monday Sept. 10 at Oakland 7:15 p.m. ET

The Chargers will once again be the second-part of the only Monday Night double header of the season, traveling to division rival Oakland.

Oakland, who also finished tied for second in the AFC West with an 8-8 record, will look to improve under first year head coach Dennis Allen, who served as the Broncos defensive coordinator last season.

Week 2 Sunday Sept. 16 vs Tennessee 1:15 pm. CBS

The Chargers' home opener is a very winnable matchup against the perpetually rebuilding Tennessee Titans-who always seem to find a way to win nine games.

By September, the Chargers should know if they will be facing Matt Hasselbeck or Jake Locker. It was Hasselbeck who guided the Titans to a 9-7 record just missing out on the playoffs due to a tiebreaker in 2011.

    Week 3 Sept. 23 vs Atlanta 1:05 p.m. FOX

This is the first game you circle on the calendar against a legitimate contender. The Falcons feature an explosive offense and an improving defense.

Week 4. Sunday Sept. 30 at Kansas City 10 a.m. CBS

Kansas City is now coached by the Belichick/Parcells coach tree product Romeo Crennel. The Chiefs likely will improve but this is a game which the Chargers are expected to win.

Week 5 Sunday Oct. 7 at New Orleans 5:20 p.m. NBC

The first of two possible appearances on Sunday Night football takes the Bolts to the Big Easy. Most expect the Saints to be OK without their head coach and the Saints again should be a major challenge.

Week 6. Monday Oct. 15 vs Denver 5:30 p.m .ET

The Chargers third National TV appearance comes against Peyton Manning. The Chargers history with Manning and the general Broncos-Chargers rivalry should make this one of the top 1 or 2 anticipated games on the Chargers' regular season schedule.

    Week 7 Bye

We won't analyze the bye, but usually it's never to early to get rest.

Week 8 Sunday Oct. 28th 10 a.m. CBS at Cleveland.

A road trip to Cleveland is not the most exciting thing in the world but a chance to check out possible new quarterback Ryan Tannehill should be interesting.

Week 9 Sunday Nov. 1st vs Kansas City 5:20 p.m. NFL Network

The Chargers fourth-nationally televised game will see the Chiefs in town for a 5:20 kickoff on the NFL Network.

Back to back games with the Browns and Chiefs is a guaranteed two-game winning streak right?

Week 10 Sunday Nov. 11 at Tampa Bay 10 .m. CBS

Raheem Morris lost his job, but the Bucs have some talent in spots.

Week 11 Sunday Nov. 18 at Denver 1:15 p.m. CBS

This time the Chargers visit Manning at Mile High, (has a nice ring to it, huh?) Who knows if Peyton will even be standing by this time in the regular season or will his neck will be in a brace, and the Broncos relying on backup quarterback named Tim...wait..

Week 12 Sunday Nov. 25th vs Baltimore 1:05 p.m. CBS

Ray Lewis is pushing 50 right? Actually he'll be 37 when this game kicks off.

Week 13 Sunday Dec. 2 vs Cincinnati 1:15 p.m. CBS

Andy Dalton and the Bengals come to SoCal. There hasn't been a better redheaded quarterback in the NFL since? No not Jeff Garcia, Sonny Jurgensen.

Week 14 Sunday Dec. 9 at Pittsburgh 10 a.m. CBS

As long as the Steelers have Big Ben they'll be predicted as Super Bowl contenders, 2012 will be no different.

Week 15 Sunday Dec. 16. vs Carolina 1:05 p.m .FOX

After three straight AFC North bruisers the Chargers get a break with the Panthers. Cam Newton is spectacular but still this is a winnable game, especially at home for the Chargers.

    Week 16 Sunday Dec. 23 at N.Y. Jets 5:20 p.m. NBC

This is probably the other game you circle on the calendar, Rex Ryan and the Jets. Who knows maybe by this point the Jets will be rolling out Mr. Tebow, either way this Sunday Night Game will be must see TV.

    Week 17 Dec. 30 vs. Oakland 1:15 p.m. CBS

The Bolts will close out the season against the team they opened against, the Silver and Black. If recent history is any indication, this game will have a meaningful impact on the Chargers playoffs hopes, position and dreams.
