I the Chargers hire the right coach I don't think LT will be alienated, specially if that coach leads them to the superbowl

Getting rid of Brees and then the coach he liked.

I doubt LT will react badly, he is a classy professional.

The way Philip played this year makes the Brees thing a non issue.

I guarantee that there were players in that lockerroom that had serious doubts about whether or not Marty would ever take them to the next level.

I agree with BDH. #17 is going to be scary good next year.

LT knows this is a business and moves like this can happen, i'm sure the last thing he wants to do is take advantage of the system and become another moving part. insinuating he will pull a barry sanders because of the loss of brees and marty is fuqing rediculous. we all know he will most likely retire the nfls yardage leader.

ESPN just can't have enough controversy, can they? When there's not enough to suit their tastes they just create some.

I was blocking it out until Marty got canned. I was actually really depressed about the upcoming season until that happened. I feel revitalized.

Hoge, Schlereth and Salisbury are my least favorite of all of the "Experts" I don't mind Eric Allen all that much, he usually has a reasonable take.

The only time Schlereth ever said any thing woth hearing was when he said that John Parella (he was a Charger at the time) was the reason he retired.

You do have to remember LT wasnt drafted by AJ. He seems to have an agenda against any and all players that wern't handpicked by him himself.
And if he lets Dielman just walk away Ive had it with AJ Smith, we can easily afford a contract for one of the top 5 guards in the game.

Look what happend to Seattle when they lost Hutch!

Did Minny tear it up with Hutch?

Seattle also lost W. Jones for a stretch, and he nursed that injury while playing for a few games too.

I dig Dielman. I hope he does re-sign .... But, if it's a contract that will hurt re-signing future needs (like in the next few years with Rivers, Igor, Castillo, etc... and a whole bunch of quality depth) then I think you have to let him go. I don't like it, but that's the game in todays cap age.

LT is all about the team. AJ would never let him go.

IMO Dielman is looking for the Quan. I believe Dielman can be replaced without too much effort.

Part of managing the cap is not picking up the "me" guys like Moss, TO, Hutchinson, etc.

I never said AJ would let LT go. I was just pointing out how funny it is that the guys AJ didnt pick himself all seem to get pushed out or ignored. Im sure AJ likes LT, I know he wont let him go anywhere

Maybe its just a coincedence that the two leaders of our offense AND defense (Brees/Edwards) have been let go to make room for "AJ's guys" (Rivers/Wilhelm)

p.s. I do think Rivers will be better then Brees, I dont think Wilhelm will be better then Edwards.

some of you act like you have never played team sports, when you play and a coach you really like or have a bond with is tossed out it does tend to affect you in certain ways.

Does this mean LT is going to feel the need to quit and walk away no. To think the firing of marty is going to have 0 effect on him or other players is stupid.

    Yes you did:

AJ was the one who signed LT to his extension. Your take is lame and has no truthful substance.
