Chargers announce no blackouts the rest of the season

Usually Friday afternoons are reserved for the Chargers announcing blackout news, on a week to week basis.

This time, they decided to handle it all at once.

According to Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego, the Chargers have sold enough tickets for the rest of the season to keep all games on local broadcast television.

The next two games were close, but the Chargers said they only had a limited number of club seats remaining.

That means for the first time since 2009, the Chargers will get through a season without a blackout. They had 10 of the league’s 59 blackouts from 2010 through 2013, and nine of their 18 non-prime time games from 2010-12 were blacked out.

It doesn’t hurt that the product has been better (at least early this season), but the Chargers showing some stability can’t hurt, at a time when their name remains in the mix for Los Angeles.

Why oh why couldn't the Miami game have been blacked out?

No matter how I try, I can't un-see that crapfest...
