The mayors-elect of National City and Chula Vista want to keep the Chargers in the county but plan to take different routes to help the team secure a new stadium.

Ron Morrison, who defeated four candidates Tuesday in National City, said he wants to meet with Chargers officials as soon as a meeting can be arranged. "Because of the immediacy, it brings it close to the top of my list," Morrison said. "We need to sit down and look at their needs, their reaction to the site, and their commitment. We don't want to be played, we want to be earnest about this."
