It appeared for a moment that despite three first-quarter turnovers and Chiefs running back Larry Johnson's best game of the season that the Chargers had a chance to pull out a triumphant victory Sunday, but a last-second 53-yard field goal by Lawrence Tynes sealed the Bolts' fate in a 30-27 heartbreaker at Arrowhead Stadium.

"I was proud as hell of the way they fought to get back into the game and get it tied," Chargers Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer said."  "When you come out of the box 14-0, it's a long uphill climb."  We just didn't get far enough up the mountain."</blockquote>
