    Access limited for Chargers-Cowboys practices
Two-day session closed to general public, open to season-ticket holders

Anyone with a television, barring a blackout, can watch the Chargers play the Cowboys in the preseason next month.

But when they practice at Chargers Park in the days following, access will be limited.

Chargers CEO A.G. Spanos said Monday the team will open its gates exclusively to season-ticket holders, part of an initiative to give customers "more value than ever.

The joint practices will be held Aug. 20-21 after an Aug. 18 exhibition game at Qualcomm Stadium. Last year, the teams practiced in Dallas.

Another two practices, toward the start of training camp, will be open just for season-ticket holders, Spanos said. Ten training-camp practices will be open to the general public, the first coming July 28.

    Training camp begins next week.

Rookies report July 22, and veterans report July 25. Each begins practicing the day after reporting.
