which could mean R-tackle is one of the agendas.

    Check out this.

The one player we need more than any other is d-end/d-tackle. THis kid can be gotten probably early in the 2nd round. I hope.

I'd go to heaven if we somehow got o-tackle beatty, and d-tackle hood. Get the good guard in the third round.

Agreed, I don't get the bag on Clary stuff. Clary is an above average RT. It doesn't mean he can't be replaced but we have other needs of much higher priority.

Clary is NOT an above average RT and would not start for any other team in the NFL. He is a serviceable backup and should be riding the pine behind LJ Shelton if we can't find someone better. Clary was a stop-gap for fat *** Olivea melting down and remains a stop-gap.

    That could prove even better.

I am guessing. But teams that actually check out players know how good hood is. I'm guessing we'd have to get him with a trade down later in the 1st round if were lucky.

They're saying tyson jackson will go in the first half of the 1st round of the draft. And everything I've seen of hood is he's even better. We might start praying that no one figures it out.

Come on now, that's ridiculous. Watch Clary this year when he has some help on the inside, I'd wager that you'll change your mind.

I don't know sd, every time he got beat it seemed to be off the edge. Obviously he's young and has room for improvement but watching him last year was painful. Just sayin :bolt:

    Clary re-signs with Chargers

    By Casey Pearce , Chargers.com

Offensive tackle Jeromey Clary, the Chargers’ only exclusive rights free agent this spring, signed his one-year contract offer Monday.

Clary started all 16 games at right tackle for the Chargers last fall. He came to San Diego as a sixth-round draft pick in 2006 and spent his rookie year on the team’s practice squad. In 2007, he earned a place on the active roster and won a starting job late in the season.

In two seasons on the active roster, Clary has appeared in 32 games and started 26.

Guys, he was an ERFA who signed a tender. It's a standard thing, they're not signing him to some huge contract. Besides, his future is at guard.

Two issues, Goff at the end of his career forcing Clary inside more then he should have been and Clary's shoulder surgeries on back to back years. (which may become an injury issue, but hopefully over.) JMO.

McNeil should be healthy this year as well.

    The offseason will be interesting.

I want to see if they can get the fat boy guard from Wisconsin.

Urbik. He should be there in the 3rd.

I"m a guessing the third round is where we get the guard of the future. There should be two or three there when we pick that are good. I'm also hoping luis vasques is there or one or two others. Vasques is a stud.

Saw the nfl network today and they had LSU's herman johnson on with an interview. And he mentioned san diego talking to him alot.

i'm thinking we get a trade down. Use the first pick on getting the d-end. And then with hopefully a 2nd rounder getting a very good guard. Its a hope anyway.

If we get lucky enough and a NT falls to us, I think I might take that over the end, especially with Merriman coming back. We need another road grader guard or tackle next for the right side, but between the two, I'd take a guard first if the two were roughly equal in value. Shelton's knees will continue to deteriorate. Trading down into the second is a good option if the right lineman is sitting there.

Brian Waters might be someone to look at. Goff is going to KC to visit and maybe they want to replace Waters with him. Waters scould bring solid veteranship (wrd?) to the line.

    Just a tought.

So if they want to replace Waters with Goff that means we should take a look at Waters?

To me that means Waters is done!!

Clary is insurance, guys. Kwak, I agree with you on Urbick. Hope he's around at our 3rd. He's got a nasty streak & moves pretty well. Lot of upside, IMO & could be an immediate starter. Vasquez is interesting too. Strong like bull. He could well be around in the 4th or 5th.

We should trade down, get our 2nd back, & address 2 need areas on the 1st day instead of only one. 16 is no-man's land unless someone of high value & need manages to drop. Guys like Orakpo, Brown, Raji, Curry, Jason Smith, Monroe will all be gone before 16.

Don't say RB at 16. :icon_evil: And I'm not sure that AJ would grab Andre Smith after his Combine no-show & poor Pro Day workout. He needs to go somewhere like SF where the coach will put his foot in his ***.

Those are GUARDS. We need a RT! Outside of Smith, Oher and that kid from Oregon Tupkou or something, there aren't many good ones. Unless you all want Corey Clark at RT

I am fully aware that they are GUARDS. Goff is gone, remember? We need a right GUARD also. I'm not sold on Forney as the answer as starter.

Our right TACKLE should come in the 1st or 2nd when we trade down.

As for Corey Clark, I haven't heard enough about the kid's progression to know whether he can be our next RT or not. What does your inside source say?
