Chargers eyeballing Seahawks players for Vincent Jackson trade

Posted by Mike Florio on August 21, 2010 8:57 PM ET
The Chargers haven't said what they want from the Seahawks in return for receiver Vincent Jackson. And it could be that the Chargers don't know yet themselves.

Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Chargers exec (and former Seahawks G.M.) Randy Mueller is in Seattle to scout possibly Seahawks players whom the Chargers could target as compensation for Jackson. Seattle hosts the Packers tonight.

Though the Seahawks received permission roughly two weeks ago to talk to Jackson about a possible contract, little progress has been made toward working out an acceptable contract. It could be that the Seahawks want to nail down one half of the transaction or the other; then, the momentum could help get the other half of the deal done.

    Housh = 5yr 40mil contract, and he's 32yrs old. I think we'd rather just pay VJack.
Tatup = Injury prone, never played in a 3-4 defense, huge contract as well.
    Locklear.....I could see that.

after doing some quick internet research (bleacher report), Ray Willis looks like an interesting tackle..plenty of upside with the ability to play LT...I like him better than Locklear who is on the downside of his career.

One problem with Seattle beef if they now run a ZBS, and I think we do a little of that but not exclusively....so they don't have out type Olineman...that being said I'd take Willis and a second in a heartbeat for VJ.

I'm tired of waiting. If we can get a solid player who can help us win the Lombardi THIS year, I'd take that and a later draft pick over just an early draft pick and nobody to help this year.

what id really like is take a 3rd or a 4th next year, and try to get receiver for receiver and get golden tate, i really like the way he runs routes, bein a second round choice who hasnt proven his self id like him, and he could be a steal gettin a steve smith type player, WILL IT HAPPEN PROBABLY NOT,WOULD I LOVE IT YES

I don't see a rookie WR helping us this year, and I don't see the Seahawks giving up on a draft pick that soon.

Only player on their team that interests me is ILB David Hawthorn, and even then he'd have to learn a new system.

the only problem with getting a ILB, is we have Cooper,Siler " who is emergeing"and donald butler even tho hes injured, and i could see golden tat helpin a short speedy receiver, kinda like what sproles is to our rb corps he could be another big play dump off guy who has speed to burn,I KNOW IT WONT HAPPEN BUT I LIKE THE KID, SO AJ GET 2 SECOND ROUNDERS,then we can package those picks with a 3rd and get another pick in the first

Now that it appears there's actually some evidence as to just what VJ is asking for in a contract, guess what?

Our FO doesn't look like such stingy assh.oles.

    Thanks, Miami.

I wonder if any of the clowns on this forum are gonna start crying about what a tight *** the Seahawks GM and owner are for not wanting to make VJ the highest paid retard reciever in the league.

If the Chargers want a first rounder, Seattle will only hand over a second rounder then a second rounder plus a player might suffice to send VJ over

Btw I personally hope it's Willis, big fan of his and he's a very good all around tackle

I don't see Jackson getting what he's asking from any team. If by some chance he does, more power to him, I just hope the Bolt's get compensated well in the transaction.
