By Steve Scholfield

Monday morning musings: The crowd that watched the Chargers face Seattle on Saturday night was the most vocal I have ever heard for an exhibition game. They booed quarterback Philip Rivers when he fumbled away two snaps that led to a 14-0 deficit, and they cheered wildly for him when Rivers brought them back for 17 unanswered points.

But the biggest cheers were reserved for a dominant defense that looked in midseason form. The defense limited Seattle's first-team offense to 98 total yards in the first half. Pretty impressive.

The way Rivers recovered after such a horrible start says a lot about his makeup. He could have let the errors get him down, but he hung in and rallied his team. I would have liked to see him play in the third quarter, but a shoulder bruise kept him out of action.
