This is not another "unleash teh negative karma" thread, that ship has already sailed. This time, a simple vote for which outcome you expect from Sunday's game. Identify your vote in this thread (poll option you chose). As a bonus, post 1 event you expect to happen during the game, please be specific (ie. punt return for td by Sproles, INT for Cromartie, ect) and we'll see if any of us have clairvoyant powers.

    I picked:

Chargers win close game (less than 7 point differential)

    Bonus:

    Rivers to Chambers TD pass

I picked Chargers win big. Something like 24-10 or 24-14. I do not think the Jags are dynamic enough to score a lot of points against our defense, and I think the offense wakes up.

Bonus: Cro gets another interception. 50/50 chance it's a TD.

Our D is going to step up...They played very well on Sunday. I watched the game on NFL Reply yesterday. Lots of good happened on D and I'm not even talking about the 6 INT's... They had a ton of pressure on Manning and held a VERY GOOD Indy team to 21 points. Indy averages 29.4 points a game and has become a much better running team (8 in the league) with 130 rushing yards a game. Jamal being back was huge for our run stopping...We held them way under thier average at 75 yards total on the ground.

My overall 'Chargers' concern remains with the offesnsive effectiveness on first down and our ability to establish long drives. I don't even care if we score...Just establish something each and every series/drive. We held the ball offensively for a total of 23:48....Not a very good stat if you play D for the Chargers...

I picked us to win big, but I respect any possibility of the Jags pulling out a win. I also think that the O-line will suddenly remember what it is they are supposed to be doing.

They just gotta do to them what teams do to us. Put 8 in the box and dare Garrard to beat us.

Provided the offense steps up, this should work.

    We'll find out Sunday morning.

I think the offense bounces back and we win a close one. BTW nobody is picking us to win this game.

That surprises me a bit. Our defense is built to stop a team like the Jags.

Not many picked us to beat the Colts, either. Let em choose the Jags.

Screw 'em. I'd rather be the underdog. There's going to be a lot of lightning strikes in J-ville on Sunday, & it won't be the weather. :bolt:

    We win big, 31-13.

I'm in with the "close win" crowd. I won't get to watch the game live so I'll rely on the TiVo later in the day.

I will pray for a win though as my son is getting baptized. Would it be wrong if I brought my Sirius Radio into the Church?

Tough call. Now that you have the little one planning your Chargers time on sundays is much more difficult. :bolt:

Yeah, but I kinda' just detached myself emotionally from this season. So Sundays aren't so crazy for me this year. I do whatever wife and baby want to do and I tivo the games. Been doing a lot more riding (mtn bike) this season too, so I'm in great shape compared to the previous 3 or 4 seasons. I used to just plant my azz on the couch at 8am and start boozin'. FAT CITY.

The O-line suddenly remembers how to block, LT returns to being well LT. Rivers finally wakes up from a 10 month deep sleep and finds out it was only a dream, he still can play football.

    We win 28 - 17 :bolt::icon_toast:

    one guy is...
    http://www.fannation.com/peter_king_challenge/pickoff

San Diego Chargers (5-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3)
San Diego is 25th in the NFL in total offense, 27th in team defense. What are we, back in the Ryan Leaf Era? Norv, this is what they call crisis mode. I say the players rise up this week, somehow.

    Chargers 17, Jaguars 10

    Go #17

The Colts were depleted several starters on both sides of the ball. A healthy Indy would have waxed us.

We need to man up and see if Upstart Crow & Co. can stand the gaff.

We were without a couple of defensive starters, too. So that argument doesn't hold up.

I think the Colts offense was wounded worse than people seem to realize. Call it a stalemate on defense if you like, but the Colts were without three key guys on offense. Marvin Harrison out probably hurt them more than anything. Dallas Clark was out. Even at that, we scored zip in the second half. Cro was more than adequate in for Jammer(obviously), Jamal began to round back into form and even without Castillo we manage to pressure Manning. So I'll give you an offset on the defense, even if our guy's buns were dragging in the 4th quarter. If Rivers had played a decent game we'd have whacked them for fair and if he doesn't get his head out where the sun shines, this will be a very close game. There is more than one reason for our offensive woes, but Rivers is the axis around which the rest of the season and the prospects for the post season pivot. Other teams are daring Rivers to beat them and so far Rivers hasn't taken the dare. I am more and more convinced that this team lacks overall discipline, and there, Norval is the nexus. That could be the root casue of Rivers decline. He's not yet ready to carry a team like he probably will be once he gets more playing time under his belt.

I don't know RC our defense has given Manning fits the last three times we've played them (and we're 2-1 in those games). Manning even said he wasn't going to miss Jammer only he got to meet Cro so it worked out. :D :bolt:
