SAN DIEGO – The Chargers' secondary, which faces a huge test on Sunday against the undefeated Indianapolis Colts, got a boost on Friday when free safety Bhawoh Jue, who has been slowed by a sore left knee, practiced for the first time this week.

"I feel all right," said Jue, who has a team-high three interceptions, with 41 tackles. "But it's one of those things that we'll find out about."

Coach Marty Schottenheimer said the team will have Jue run on the RCA Dome artificial turf before Sunday's game. At that time, a decision will be made if Jue can go. If Jue isn't fit, he would be replaced by Clinton Hart.

Rookie defense tackle Luis Castillo was also able to work. He said his sore hip has made considerable progress and he is a go for Sunday.

"It felt great," Castillo said after his first practice of the week. "I could have tested it yesterday."

Castillo's play of late has drawn raves from Schottenheimer. The second of the team's first-round picks last spring, Castillo has 32 tackles and 2 "½ sacks.

The only Charger not practicing was left tackle Roman Oben. His foot injury has caused him to miss five straight games and he won't play on Sunday, giving way to Leander Jordan.
