It'll be interesting to see how coach Marty Schottenheimer reacts to the unprecedented criticism he received last week for his conservative ways. Will he open it up, allowing QB Philip Rivers to test a pass defense that is ranked 20th in the league? Or will he keep it on the ground, relying on RBs LaDainian Tomlinson and Michael Turner? If the Chargers choose to fill the air ---- doubtful ---- Rivers' pass-protection must be keen against the Steelers' baffling 3-4 defense, with LBs Larry Foote (two), Clark Haggans (two) and Joey Porter (two) leading a unit with 10 sacks. Great pairing is C Nick Hardwick against two-time Pro Bowl NT Casey Hampton. Keep an eye on the middle as Hardwick's success will go a long way in determining the game's outcome. With the Chargers being so one-dimensional ---- where's TE Antonio Gates? ---- the edge goes to the 'burg.</blockquote>
