I know it's a tough economy, and Charger fans can't afford to go. Funny, but it would seem that not even Faider fans want to pay money to see their team lose...

I want to make it out to the game to help with the ticket sales, but is their a big risk going to Raider games? I hear so much about their rough fans even in San Diego. I want to take my two little nephews, but I'm skeptical on whether or not we'll be safe. Any feedback Charger fans? Thanks

How little are the Nephews? If you want to stay out of trouble, 99 times out of 100 you can. But I would be concerned about what children might witness or hear during a Raider game.

As for the black out, I've been saying since day one that the first game which would have any chance to black out is KC after Thanksgiving. And only if we are 5 and 5 or worse. Unfortunately that could come true. We need to win Sunday then win 2 of 3 against NY, Phi and Den to reach 6 and 4. Not to mention keep our hopes alive.

    Go Bolts!

They're older, and I didn't think it would be much of a problem, however, I have never been to a Charger/Raider game. Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it!

1000 tixs should not make a difference. There are plenty of organizations that could buy them up and donate them to people that couldn't go to the game otherwise.

    and

I don't know what difference our record would make unless we were 6-0 or 5-1.

I started taking my oldest son to the Raider game's when he was 12 years old. Before that I just didnt feel safe. but then again the crowd has mellowed out these last couple of years. And that goes with the Raiders and their losing streak,

I'm not talking about the Raider game, I've been saying since day one there is no chance of this game being blacked out.

I've also been saying (what I was trying to illustrate in my post) the first game of the season which will have any chance of being blacked out would be the KC game after Thanksgiving. But only if we are 5-5 or worse. I think our record would have a lot to do with weather the fans show up for the games.

I got your point, I'm saying 6-0, 5-1 would be the determining factor. Not so much a .500 record.

We've all been down this road before. SD only supports a team (attendance wise) if they are in first place by a wide margin.

Our team is and has been a .500 team for two years, ticket sales are affected by that.

I don't care what anybody says about the economy. GB & Pitt just to name two, don't seem to have a problem selling out every game for who knows how many years.

Don't be afraid to take them to the game regardless the opponent. there are rules in place that allow any fan in the stadium to have unruly fans removed.

There is an older couple who sits in front of us and have been bringing their young grandkids for the past 5 years, and usually whenever an opposing fan gets rowdy, security is on the spot. Plus, there is now a number you can text that goes directly to the security guys and gals, you tell 'em where your seats are located, and they will immediately show up and work **** out.

Raiders games IMO have become less rowdy then Bronco games, don't believe the hype surrounding the big bad Raiders. All bark, no bite.

Any word on whether the blackout has been lifted or not?

    There will be no blackout.

I'm not trying to be cocky (not like this is some amazing thing to predict) but I am trying to emphasize how 100% positive I am on the fact that this game will not be blacked out.

Don't know if that was an intentional or unintentional double negative.

This game WILL be on TV locally. Which interestingly means SD will NOT get to see Favre in Green Bay.

if you're worried about rowdy fans - the $54 family section is a good bet too - no alcohol or foul language allowed there so kinda curbs the obnoxious fan risk :)

Don't think any of those are left. The cheap ones sell out first. But you could find second hand.

My seats are in the family section, first row of family section, and its been fine.

Way to slant the point by picking the two most popular teams in the NFL.

San Diego is hardly the only team facing black outs this year.

That's not to say your point about fair weather fans in San Diego isn't at least partially true, but you have your head in the sand if you don't think the economy is also a factor.

Have you ever seen a "nice" Raydur family? They won't be in that section, that's for sure. The kids would probably get kicked out for cussing before the parents do...

    true, but..........

My point was that SD will always be a tough sell. To many other things to do.

now if you use the two towns listed

    GB - nothing to do
    Pitt - nothing to do

that was really where I was headed. Not so much fair weather.

Green Bay and Pittsburgh have a waiting list for season tickets that goes on for at least a 20 year wait.

The Redskins also have a long list as well. Lots of stuff to do in that region.

Arizona also had issues this year with blackouts, with similar extensions given to sell the remaining 1000-2000 tickets. And they were in the superbowl last year.

Seriously.......... was there ever any doubt? ;)

We go through this BS every home game. Around 1,00 tickets always are left because they are single obstructed view seats. Why would anyone in their right mind pay good money for those seats?
