As I've said in another thread, there was never a Charger WR with more heart.

    God Speed, Eric.

Best of luck to Parker. I hope he winds up with an NFC team so I don't feel conflicted about continuing to root for him. He made the most of his ability and was an absolute gamer. It's a shame that the 2006 playoff performance is what he will be remembered for. EP was hear in the dark days, and he really set a tone for the young players with his toughness and work ethic.

when the bolts had TC up in Carson, I would go over and watch them practice and one day Parker was in his football pants and t-shirt before practice sitting up in the stands and I talked with him for a while and he was a real nice guy.

Good luck wherever you end up. He had a lot of heart and it just shows how much talent we have that we can let him go.

He could be a great contribution to the Saints. Especially since he's played with Brees.

    good luck EP.

AJ and crew must have known EP just wasn't going to get back to were he needed to be to compete

I'm sure he gets signed, but it's got to be questionable if he ever comes back fully

I assume the Charger medical staff called this one?. Why would we release him if he was coming back 100%?. I'm disappointed for him, it's a pity his last hurrah was the NE playoff game, one none of us want to remember.

I wish him all the best in whatever he puts his mind to. If he is to get another crack at the NFL I hope it does not turn into a 'living out of suitcase' crap thing moving from team to team.

I don't think you can just dump an injured player without a medical settlement, particularly if the medical staff considers him permanently injured. Rookies and FA's get waived injured, but there is a settlement involved. I don't think you can enter into trade negotiations under those circumstances, either, unless the other team agrees to negotiate despite the injury.

It's a shame that Parker didn't have the top notch physical skills to go along with his top notch heart as a player. His last game was an aberration. It sucks that that one game will probably hang around his neck the rest of his playing days, but that's life. He was Mr. Clutch here for a long time. Hopefully he ends up in Cleveland or Miami or some place where I can still pull for him. Please don't go to Denver or Oakland, Parker.

It’s a pretty curious move on our part, releasing him vice trading him when there are several teams out there who could use a guy like him….if we were going to cut him outright, why do it after June 1st?

Something tells me that he may not be as healthy as we would expect, or they may have at least bought him to training camp, and then pulled a Miami…(wait for someone to get injured in another camp, then trade him to that team)

Perhaps they didn’t even want to waste reps on him in TC when he didn’t figure prominently in their plans for this season when younger guys like Davis or Nanee could use those practice snaps more effectively…

I hope he retires from the board completely and goes wherever parker goes. That's the only upside I see to losing Parker, parker88 goes with him. Or at least shuts his trap for five minutes.
