Chargers remain committed to San Diego

    Although San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders announced Friday that the city's current financial crisis means that San Diego is not in a position to work with the Chargers on a new stadium, the team's desire to stay in the San Diego area hasn't changed.

    "The Chargers remain committed to building a new, Super Bowl-caliber stadium for the greater San Diego region, and we are determined to do everything possible to keep the Chargers in the San Diego region," said Chargers Special Counsel Mark Fabiani.</blockquote>
