The Chargers have scored a rushing touchdown in 22 consecutive games. It is the longest active streak in the NFL. The league record is 35 games, set by Green Bay from 1959-1962.

LaDainian Tomlinson has scored a rushing touchdown in 16 consecutive games, an NFL record. He is three shy of the NFL mark for touchdowns scored, rushing or receiving, in consecutive games (19 games, Lenny Moore).

Tomlinson has scored eight total touchdowns this season to lead the NFL. Tomlinson has scored 68 touchdowns in 67 games played through his career.

Kevan Barlow was the only rusher other than Tomlinson to gain 100 yards on the Patriots over the last 16 games. It is the 25th career 100-yard rushing game for Tomlinson.

His longest run of the day went 11 yards but he maintained a 5.4 average per carry, rushing the ball 25 times for 134 yards.

"They ran it well," said Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. "We didn't stop them. They just rolled into a series of long drives and a lot of third down conversions."

    # Michael Turner had a 46-yard touchdown run called back because of a penalty on Nick Hardwick late in the fourth quarter.

Turner rushed the ball 11 times for 44 yards, including an impressive 18-yard scamper where he bowled over safety Guss Scott.

    # Inside the 20-yard line, San Diego's offense has a .750 touchdown percentage with 12 touchdowns in 15 trips inside the red zone.

    # The Chargers have not allowed an opening drive touchdown in 18 straight games, the longest streak in the NFL.

    # Keenan McCardell caught his fifth touchdown of the season in the second quarter. His five ranks tops among wideouts in the NFL, pending Monday's game. He had just one last year.

    # The Patriots spent a lot of time in the shotgun to combat the pressure being delivered by San Diego.

It helped, but the team gained just 61 yards in the second half.

The Chargers held the ball for 20 minutes and 44 seconds during the second half, eating up nearly more than two-thirds of the clock. Their final scoring drive of the game took nearly nine minutes off the clock.
