(Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)" align="left" height="255" width="166" />Saturday-Arizona, by way of KFMBHD-wow-what an improvement broadcast wise, from last season's preseason broadcasts-night and day...

The Chargers visited the site of the 2007 Super Bowl, looking to get the feel of the joint, before coming back here in January to finish the job they started last year. In a rousing preseason game- Da Bolts took care of business by holding the Cardinals to ONLY 31 points."  Not enough against the BEST OFFENSE IN FOOTBALL. As it should be. 33 points. 506 yards Without LT...

The Chargers defeated the seemingly much improved Cardinals on the road 33-31, and took another positive step towards the regular season.

After trading FG's to start the 1st qtr,"  Cards QB Matt Leonard torched the Chargers D with an 80 yards strike to WR Anaquan Boldin. Said Mr. Boldin "We wanted to come out and make a statement, everybody around the league knows that the third preseason game is like a dress rehearsal, so we wanted to come out and show everybody what we were capable of.""  Leonard showed great pocket awareness, and should be effective this season, provided the Cards can keep him upright. Said ML, on his performance "I feel good but I have to continue to get better and continue to get in my playbook, I have too many mental errors, and that is just something that I have to continue to get better at." Maybe, Arizona finally found themselves a QB...

    10-3 Cards- here we go...

Then came the play of the preseason so far, at least for me. Darren Sproles finished up a nice Charger drive by juking his way into the end zone virtually untouched from 19 yards out. Darren made the team with that run, bet the house.

10-10 ballgame- the offense is warming up...

Cardinals score on Leinarts 28 yard scoring toss to WR Larry Fitzgerald, once again taking the Chargers vanilla D right into the end zone. Can't wait to see them turn the D loose...

17-10 Cardinals- end of the 1st...

San Diego came right back, scoring again on Philip Rivers 6 yard scoring pass to Vincent Jackson. Another solid drive and another solid result.

    17-17 ballgame- where's JJ?

Both teams battled it out with the first string for the rest of the first half, which ended at 17-17.

San Diego scored again on another long drive after Rivers drilled Vincent Jackson with a 6 yard toss. Look for that combo a lot this season...

24-17 Chargers - leaving the first string out there to start the third, Norv and I are on the same page there. One thing I think worked against Marty was his leaving all the starters out for too long in the preseason. Football players need to play.

It turned to the scrubs after that, with both teams putting points on the board.
27-24 Chargers- end of the 3rd.

Nate Kaeding booted a short 21 yard FG, and the Chargers were ahead by 6,
    30 to 24.

Arizona wanted to win badly, and took the lead on Shayne Boyd's 5 yard td pass to" "  M. Trannon. Right down the field..."  2 weeks... 2 weeks...
    Then the Blitzes can begin...

    31-30 Cards- drama...

San Diego wasted no time, driving right back into FG range, and Nate Keating took the game winner from 37 yards. Automatic.

    Chargers win, 33-31, good ballgame.

Michael Turner sprained his ankle, but should be ok for the regular season.

Next up, the Niners, Thursday at the Q- Be there...
