For those who aren't season ticket holders, just thought you should know. The Chargers are offering refunds to anyone who has tickets but can't make it to the game. They are also offering to transfer your tickets to police/firefighters and their families (though you won't receive a refund, of course).

The Chargers did not have to do this, but they are doing the right thing. Kudos to them.

this is good from the Chargers, hopefully any unsold ticket (if there are any) can go to the firefighters

P.S. nobody cares about the good actions of team managment, if your post said "Chargers won't refund tickets of evacuated fans..." you'd have 50 replies by now

Yeah, it's alot easier to criticize someone for doing something wrong than it is to praise them for doing something right.

This is a copy of the email someone else posted:

    Dear Super Fan,

This has been a very trying week for everyone. The wildfires have been catastrophic for our County. Things are settling down now and we need to address the scheduling of our upcoming game.

The Chargers home game against the Houston Texans will be played as scheduled at Qualcomm Stadium on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 1:05 p.m.

In the event that the circumstances of this past week prevent any season ticket holders from attending the game on Sunday, the Chargers are offering the opportunity for a refund of their tickets.

Season ticket holders can return their tickets (and parking passes) to the Chargers ticket office at Gate C at Qualcomm Stadium beginning on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 27, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Refunds will be processed within 30 days and will be issued to the season ticket holder of record.

As an alternative for season ticket holders if you prefer to transfer your tickets for use by local fire and police or other emergency personnel or their families (with no refund), the Chargers will facilitate the transfer at no cost. The ticket holder can call the Chargers ticket office at 1-877-CHARGERS or 619-280-2121 by 5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2007.

Any single game ticket purchaser who obtained tickets through the Chargers or Ticketmaster can also return their tickets to Gate C beginning on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 12:00 noon until Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. and they will be issued a refund for the face value of the ticket within 30 days or they can call Ticketmaster at 619-220-TIXS.

Individuals wishing to purchase tickets may also do so by accessing Ticketmaster after 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Tickets returned to the Chargers will be placed for sale on the Ticketmaster site as they are returned.

The Chargers greatly appreciate your support.

The only bad thing about all of that, the Season Ticket holders have to do in person, what about the out of towners?

That's what I was wondering. Refunds have to be done in person, but transferring of tix to fire/police can be done over the phone.

I would think they would be able to take care of someone over the phone who lives out of town.
