    Chargers sign Gronkowski the younger

The Chargers signed a Gronkowski Tuesday, but not the fun one.

According to Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego, the team signed former Colts and Broncos fullback Chris Gronkowski.

He’s also spent some time with the Cowboys, but the other two links are important, as he was in Indianapolis with new Chargers GM Tom Telesco in 2011 and in Denver with new Chargers coach Mike McCoy last season.

Chris is the younger brother of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, but hasn’t approached his brother’s success. The former undrafted rookie from Arizona has five rushes and eight receptions for a grand total of 63 yards in three seasons, though he does have a touchdown.

    Chargers sign RB Chris Gronkowski

    http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/apr/23/chargers-sign-chris-gronkowski/

Chris Gronkowski spent 2011 with Tom Telesco and 2012 with Mike McCoy.
On Tuesday morning, he reunited with them both.

The veteran fullback signed a deal with the Chargers, the news first coming via Twitter from younger brother and Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. This is the fourth team in as many years for Chris, who joined Indianapolis after spending his rookie year in Dallas.

Undrafted out of Arizona, the 26-year-old has played 410 snaps in his three-year career. He has five rushes for 17 yards and eight catches for 46 yards and one score.

Gronkowski joins a backfield with Ryan Mathews, Danny Woodhead, Ronnie Brown, Foswhitt Whittaker, Edwin Baker and fullback Le'Ron McClain.
