Agreed, we needed depth at OLB and another starter at ILB.

He's not to replace Burnett, they don't play the same position, we needed more OLB depth, has nothing to do with English.

Do any of you even watch this team?

    Chargers sign OLB Travis LaBoy

The Chargers rounded out their outside linebacker depth by agreeing to terms with free agent Travis LaBoy -- another former San Francisco 49er -- on a two-year contract.

LaBoy, who has also played for Tennessee and Arizona since being a second-round pick in 2004, had five sacks for the 49ers in 14 games (no starts) in 2010. Along with newly acquired inside linebacker Takeo Spikes, LaBoy played for new Chargers defensive coordinator Greg Manusky in San Francisco.

LaBoy has started 32 games in his career and had 28.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles and an interception. The plan is to put LaBoy in the outside linebacker rotation with Antwan Barnes (signed Wednesday) behind Shaun Phillips and Larry English.

Other than a backup quarterback -- they are still talking with Billy Volek -- the Chargers could be finished signing free agents now, as they wait for the dust to settle with cuts around the league. They still desire an inside linebacker as a probable starter and will be looking for another veteran wide receiver.

More immediately, they turn their attention to signing their remaining two draft picks -- first-rounder Corey Liuget and third-rounder Shareece Wright.

They have since Tuesday signed six of their eight draft picks and agreed to terms and/or signed Spikes, LaBoy, Barnes, free safety Eric Weddle, defensive end Jacques Cesaire, cornerback Dante Hughes and wide receiver Kelley Washington.

Also, safety Bob Sanders, who agreed on a one-year contract in March, officially signed his contract Friday afternoon. And wide receiver Vincent Jackson, the team's franchise player, is expected to sign his tender today.

He's depth for OLB and special teams and provides an alternative if English has another buster David year. Don't see it as anything more then that. We need another ILB for sure but we needed an insurance policy for english

You think? She looks thick and all. But I dunno if she's cut out for the NFL.

I like this pickup. LaBoy will push both English hard.
