    <font class="newstext">Port Commissioner Stephen Cushman, who heads the Port District's maritime committee, made the announcement yesterday after studying the dimensions of the site and the acreage required for a stadium and parking. </font>

    <font class="newstext">But he said the port will not contribute money toward the project, which faces several challenges – key among them financing a stadium that could cost $600 million or more.</font></blockquote>
